Warm and cozy place, with Mediterranean cuisine, but also an eye to the rest of the world. The name Mezé comes from the ancient and noble custom of the Ottoman Empire to serve small appetizers before the main meal: crispy fried stuff and soft and tasty humus and babaganush to spread on a warm pita bread before enjoying a good cous cous (steamed, not precooked!) or an inviting chicken Jerusalem. Pasta dishes served as well. Informal service, but accurate

Come here if you had enough pizza and pasta!

Lovely place, packed on a Tuesday evening, great service. It offers a range of Mediterranean dishes including Sicily. Although I had an excellent Pasta pesto Trapanese my company was very happy with some Lebanese delicacies. All in all a really good change to the usual pizza, pasta, prosciutto... read more

So, we've just been there in this hot sunday evening, as everything else was closed in the area (we live close by). I must say that I was not satisfied. A pita bread turned out to be a standard bun (seemed industrial to me). The cutlets seemed like they had been taken out of a supermarket. Then we had a... More

Wonderful and particular food, great quality, marvellous courtesy. I live next to the restaurant and I am used to go there often also for an happy hour. I love the owner and the waiters, all of them are incredibly nice and have a lot of advices for hour dinner. The place is not "touristic", though.

We stumbled upon this place when staying close by in the Le Fate Apartments and we're really pleased with what we found! Firstly the welcome by the waitress who spoke in precise English after working in London as an actress for a few years was first class! She made us feel welcome and helped us navigate the Italian menu. Her... More

Meze Bistrot was a great surprise find in this quiet neighborhood. The food was a lovely combination of Italian, North African and Middle Eastern. We had veggie starters, including a Fatush salad, an eggplant salad, some vegetable croquets and Hummus. Everything was very fresh and tasty. The pastas we had next were perfect: a spicy eggplant one and a Pesto... More

A great little restaurant, nicely decorated and friendly staff. The menu is simple but tasty. A mix between italian, mediterranean, middle eastern , there is definitely something for most tastes! try the fritelli di zia, small fried balls of vegetables that are amazingly delicious! the price is reasonable, if a little on the expensive side, but the ambience and flavours... Staying in Monteverde

Neighborhood Profile
Monteverde
Above the city on the Janiculum hill, Monteverde is Rome’s popular "getaway" neighborhood, coveted for its greenery. Rome's largest urban park, Villa Pamphili, is the area's centerpiece with affordable prices and peace and quiet. Monteverde is just far enough away from the center to feel like you’re on a Roman holiday and close enough to feel the lure of Rome's chaos. Though its downside is the lack of scheduled public transport, this family-oriented area is literally a well-deserved walk in the park.
