A good pub but expensive, in a quiet part of that city, to which all roads run. Definitely worth a return visit.

We went to the Fiddler's Elbow to stay away from the riots after the Roma-Feyenoord football game. It was quiet and we took over most of it. The drinks were expensive, but it had a good atmosphere. Also, it was open mic night so there was some entertainment.

We happened to be staying right by The Fiddler's Elbow and went in for the open mic night on Thursday. The place was packed and there was a brilliant atmosphere. Don't go for the wine though, stick with beer and spirits.

As we usually stay in the area, we regularly visit the 'Fiddlers'. Always busy and never short of someone to talk to. The Guinness is good and there's sometimes live music to get the place rocking.

My work required that on twoi of the nights while in Rome I would need Internet access several times over the span of a few hours. And since the Fiddler's Elbow provided it, initially my aim was very pragmatic—buy a beverage and an appetizer to qualify as a paying customer, and then get to work. But the curious contrast of... Popped in for a quick drink after dinner - what a mistake to make! The hospitality is second to none: the service excellent and the beer delicious!

OK, not everyone has the same tastes. Restaurant reviews are always potentially problematic. We were ready for a pizza break and walked around the square, liked the look and location of this pub and were tempted by the very inexpensive (by Rome standards) hamburgers. Drinks were cold, staff was friendly, people watching was great, location and atmosphere a plus. I... More

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
