Nice rest after a morning at the Vatican.

Enjoyed a hearty plate of pasta after visiting the Vatican. I had a payday with pesto, almond slices, eggplant, and I think ricotta. Bellissimo! Good service and atmosphere. When I visited, there were quite a few families there, both Italians and foreign. Wifi, air conditioning, and English menus... read more

Food was excellent. Yes, they do operate on "Italian Time" and service could be a little slow. But we didn't mind that cos us could use a break after visiting the Vatican. While we were waiting for our order, we were served some complimentary bruschetta which was nice. Salad ingredients were fresh. My tasty sea bass dish was prepared with... More

We had a very nice lunch at Mamas. We all had appetizers and fish. The fish was a little plain but the chocolate cake made up for it. I would return just for dessert in the future. Yum.

perfect for a hot night in Rome. magnificent tuna tartare presented in a timbale, and ravishing octopus, excellent salmon and stunning salad but judging by the locals' pasta and their reservations (we only managed to eat outside, it had been so booked up) it would be great for a cold night and conventional pasta/ meat too. Great service and welcome.... More

A nice place with delicious food, we had linguine with seafood and chicken with curry sauce and rice + 2 orange juices. We paid €31. The staff was pleasant and there was good music on the radio (Aerosmith, Nirvana etc.) for a great mood)) We visited in the afternoon and there were no one except us.

I have been in Rome for quite some time now and it actually has been pretty difficult to find a good restaurant with a good atmosphere and great food. Mama definitely meets these two things. Andrea the owner is an amazing guy, very attentive as well as his staff. My food was flavorful, great presentation, affordable prices and hands down... More

Service was amazing and the food was totally great. Get in early to visit before 9 otherwise it gets busy and order anything with their homemade pesto!! Yum

Chose this on recommendation of hotel but we werereally disappointed. Their food was nothing special and the winewas highly overpriced. Their service was very poor - we had to wait a long time to get our order taken, They offered no bread whilst we waited for or food. To cap it off we had to ask three times for our... More

We popped in here for lunch on our last day in Rome, as we saw they had great reviews. We ordered Panini sandwiches off the lunch menu and were highly disappointed because we'd read such positive things. The sandwiches were overly wet (mozzarella) and had no flavor to them at all. Also, typical to our other experiences in Italy, the... More

Excellent meal--one of our favorites on this trip to Rome. We ate here last week and were not disappointed by the high reviews. My husband's and daughter's meals were especially memorable. Our daughter had pasta carbonara, and it was first rate (my husband is very picky about carbonara pasta, as he learned to make it exquisitely when we lived in... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
