Excellent food and drinks, Slow Service

We had a late dinner and drinks and definitely enjoyed both. We were a little surprised when a charge for the bread basket showed up on our bill. It wasn't a big cost but since we had not asked for it I don't think we should have been charged for it. It also took a while to get our waitresses... read more

June 19th and June 20th. My family and I ate here twice. The pizza was amazing. In addition, the pesto pasta was delicious. The gnocchi was the best I had ever had. They also have several delicious Italian and German beers. Lorenzo waited on us the first day and was one of the best waiters we have had while in... More

The food is delicious, authentic....and our waiter was one of the most interesting people we met in Rome. He told us the legends of the ruins in our immediate surroundings and made the meal perfect. We had pizza, pasta and a caprese salad.....and Italian beers. Wonderful!

We accidentally found this place, nearly starving to death and we were absolutely satisfied! The food was very delicious and the service was also really friendly. The atmosphere should be mentioned as well, as we ate on barell tables, so also really extraordonery.

Very nice location! Friendly staff and good food for an average price. Beautiful place to make a rest between all the historic buildings around the Collosseum and the Circus Maximus. Top!

We found this by chance heading back towards Foro Romano from the Circo Massimo. It's tucked away in the back streets, quite close to Arc di Giano (Arch of Janus). Lovely coffee for 2 euro each. Pleasant staff. Clean bar and toilets. We returned twice more over the next couple of days for a cool drink and then a delicious... More

We were walking around the Roman Forum towards Palatine Hill and looking for a place to eat because it was about to rain. We ran into this restaurant and stopped for lunch. The food here was good, my gnocchi was excellent. It's very clean and the service is fast.

Staying in Aventine

Neighborhood Profile
Aventine
Contrary to the chaos of the city, the Aventine is Rome’s oasis. A neighborhood made up of a patchwork of ancient churches, hidden gardens, private homes and embassies, peace and quiet is top priority and the vibe definitely friends and family. Take a walk around the Aventine and you’ll find a treasure hunt of surprises like the clever little keyhole at the Knights of Malta entrance (the only place you’ll find a line) along with Parco Savello (Giardino degli Aranci) next to the ancient Santa Sabina church. Keep your eyes on the 1960s architecture, several modern buildings are built atop Rome’s original 4th century BC wall.
