Favorite spot near the Vatican! Healthy, fresh, AMAZING!!!

I stumbled upon this restaurant when I was looking for a healthy and affordable place to have lunch after my morning at my internship at the Vatican. The Vatican is FULL of tourist traps, so it wasn't easy to find a place like FaBio, but once I did...I was SOLD. The interns and I went once and... read more

We had some sandwiches for lunch at Fa-bio after walking in & around the Vatican. The restaurant is small, with a few seats inside. I notice that most people tend to take out their food. The restaurant is open till 5 pm. The fact that so many people kept going in & out of the restaurant ordering food while we... More

My roommate and I came to Rome for the weekend, and we were directed to Fa-bio by our Vatican tour guide. He told us that he goes for lunch about four times a week, and I completely understand why! The sandwiches were fresh, flavorful, and filling. We also got fresh juice blends, and they were absolutely delicious! The staff were... More

After 5 hours of viewing the museums, we were glad to rest our feet at Fa-bio while we enjoyed freshly made juices and sandwiches. One was on gluten free bread but both were tasty! The price was also very fair. They also offer salads and hot soups (which we were unfortunately too late to try). They are a few minutes... More

Getting out from Vatican we fell on this place. This is paradise for healthy food: sandwich on demand with organic and healty products. We also ordered fresh fruit drinks. Some host people were speaking French that helps us to select among the different product.

Spotted this little eatery on the way to the Vatican and watched the staff prepare the sandwiches and wraps as they were ordered. We had been warned about overpricing in the vicinity of the Vatican so on our way back, we checked it out again. Prices were exceptionally reasonable. The staff were very helpful and explained the different breads and... More

We arrived before this restaurant opened, but they kindly motioned us to come inside. They said they would not open until 11:00 a.m., but we were free to look around. We said we would be back. When we returned, they kindly explained everything to us. They did not have any gluten-free bread, but since I had picked up some at... More

We stopped off at Fa-bio for a quick lunch after schlepping about the Vatican museums all morning. The sandwiches were delicious - tasty fillings including a load of options for veggies and vegans (I had seitan with a tofu pate and salad and it was delicious) as well as meat and fish options. You get a choice of bread and... More

I found this place when I was scouring the web for tips for you two-week stay in Rome. We love stuffed panini and sandwiches, but I wanted something specially for my vegan tastes. Fa-Bio was happily located very close to our apartment. We were looking for picnic stuff for our long walk in the Caffarella Valley. The guys at Fa-Bio... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
