This was recommended as we wanted to eat fish. It gets great reviews here and there was a queue outside when we left. However when we ordered we were told they had run out of fried potatoes ! so we had roast which were cold and came 5 minutes after the rest of our meals. I had the salt cod... More

Arrived 15 minutes earlier than reservation (7:30) seated quickly (only 1 other table seated). Very attentive waiter, appears to be a family business. 2 of the 3 of us chose specials. Very tasty, ingredients tasted fresh. Prices were reasonable. This was a trek from our hotel. Wouldn't return given the distance, but if you are in the neighborhood, this is... More

Had dinner here 1 night. One of the family who owns this was very informative about each item on the menu, explaining ingredients, how it was made etc. Food was very authentic, very filling. Could not eat all the courses (starter, antipasta, first main, second main /veg, dessert.

What a perfect way to end a busy day of touring. We arrived on a recommendation from Luca, who runs a nearby B&B. From start to finish we were greeting by smiles from mamma and Daniel. We were given detailed food descriptions and recommendations. Loved the vegetable lasagna, although it was called something else. Bonus - they offer house wine... More

...I found this place using my tripadvor app on my mobile and trusted it fully. What a great choice. Real authentic Roman place for this half touristic half residential area, one of then best if not the only one here in Rome. Everything was great. The welcoming was warm and nice . No pre- booking though. So i got my... More

We arrived fairly late in the evening and were looking for somewhere affordable and walkable from our hotel. The concierge recommended this place and we were not disappointed. The food was simple yet amazing, and the staff were kind and welcoming. This was a wonderful place to visit on our first night in Rome.

It's everything that you would expect from a family-run local restaurant: A warm welcoming atmosphere with randomly-collected decorations and tables placed wherever they fit. Half of the patrons are locals, prices very reasonable for Rome, and mom doesn't speak a word of English (don't worry - the rest do) but smiles anyway. The menu is unusually well-stocked and mom's seasonings... More

We visited Cucina Romana on the basis of TA reviews and were very pleased we did. A family run restaurant with fantastic customer service. Daniele who runs front of house made recommendations which we were happy to follow, and was so friendly he made our evening so much more enjoyable. The food was delicious with many home made dishes. The... More

We visited the restaurant after a recommendation from our hotel Inn Urbe Varicano. It was our first night in Rome and a perfect start to our holiday! The restaurant is small, quaint, authentic and cosy. There was a friendly and welcoming atmosphere from the lovely staff. We had starters, mains, puddings, wine, beer and coffee and it was a bargain... More

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
