Great traditional Roman food, friendly service!

I stumbled on this restaurant by chance on my first trip to Rome (and Italy). I can still remember what I ordered several years ago... mussels and carbonara. I almost bit the poor waiter when he tried to take the mussel juice away from me, as I was busy sopping up the last delicious drops with... read more

Restaurant was recommended by our hotel. Father is cooking and the son is running service. The rest of the family is also put to work in this restaurant. Let the son of the family make my food choices and it was spot on. Champions League was on during our meal and he were able to watch it during our meal.... More

Great food, reasonably priced and very intimate for a lovely meal away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist traps. Book a table to avoid disappointment. We would have went back if we were staying longer but we felt that would be cheating as we were only there for 3 nights

If you love the special stories that go with that magical dining experience you'll remember when you look back at your trip to Rome, then this is one of those places. Traditional Roman cuisine done properly and just perfect in its simplicity. The lovely lady (nonna, dare I call her?) running the joint goes to the market during puntarelle season... More

We have twice stayed in this excellent area of Rome and have made three visits to this restaurant in 2013 and four in 2015. It is a very friendly family establishment, with good service and excellent cooking. The staff are very knowledgeable about the dishes and very ready to describe them. There is a wide standard menu, with several specials... More

If you're after great Italian traditional cooking like Nonna used to make you can't do better than here. On three bustling levels (which keeps the dumb waiter elevator busy), they do all the favourite pasta and meat dishes in a simple and tasty way. Good serves, fresh ingredients and lashings of crusty bread. Wine list is generous and prices are... More

Very friendly restaurant with good food. Menu is simple and classical: pastas, starters and some main dishes. Recommend for a casual meal.

Our hotel recommended this restaurant which was a short walk away. Thank God they did!! We had a group of 16 and were treated wonderfully and in a timely manner by the staff. The food and wine were wonderful and the pricing was very reasonable for the portions we received. Even the desserts were to die for. I would highly... More

I wish we'd come across this place on our first night as it really sets the benchmark. Friendly staff talk you through the menu and specials. We had four courses of excellent home made food. The price is very reasonable and cheaper than most other places we found in Rome. Can't recommend it enough!

All dishes tasted great! Try its home style cooking. Daniel was very nice and informed us about the specials. Reasonable prices too.

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
