Our hotel recommend this little restaurant located near the Vatican. Our waiter, the owners' son, was really amicable and recommended traditional homemade dishes: he was so proud of the food and wanted us to experience and taste the real italian cuisine. My boyfriend had homemade carbonara pasta and it was simply amazing. I had homemade gnochis that were so fresh... More

Although this is far from our actual home, the entire family whom runs the restaurant made everyone feel at home. I have nothing new to add that has not already been stated in previous reviews....But after 12 days in Italy which included eating in Florence and Cinque Terre, the experience and the food here at Su e Giu surpassed everything... We visited this delightful family owned restaurant several evenings on our recent trip to Rome. Daniele and his mama, Anna, treated us like family! We enjoyed delicious pasta dishes, and papa's signature appetizer....a sumptuous layered melange of potatoes, mushrooms, butter, and asiago cheese. Mama had us try her chambelina cookies, and treated us to a delightful Spumante to dip them in.... More

The food is excellent, the atmosphere is homely and relaxed, and the staff are great. Daniele and the blonde waitress (his wife?) are very helpful. It's small though, and there aren't too many tables, so book to avoid disappointment.

A small restaurant with delicious food. The family owned restaurant is the place to linger over a long dinner with wonderful house wine. Don't miss the desserts. One of the best in Rome.

This restaurant is a gem of terrific traditional cooking in an area dominated by pizzerias with sometimes limited other menus. We visited twice in our one week stay in Rome, and were very impressed both times. The in-season dishes - in our case the zucchini flowers and the porcini mushrooms - were especially good. Daniele merits the accolades in other... More

This is a gem of a family owned restaurant an easy walk from St. Peter's basilica and worth every step. The service is prompt, our waiter. Daniele, the owner's son, was attentive and through in his explanation of every delicious morsel on the menu. The food is authentic Roman - including the most delicious stuffed zucchini flower I have ever... More

We all loved the fresh food enthusiastically served by Daniele. Very good value and great atmosphere - this place is definitely worth seeking out in an area with many other options.

I can only echo the previous great reviews. I e-mailed the owner in the UK and booked a table before I came out to Rome. The son- Daniele welcomed us at the door and helped us with our menu choices and wine. We had some superb Suppli and fried zucchini for starters followed by Gnocchi with clams before our main...
