Cooking from home. Friendly service. Draws the locals, expats, such as me, and "stranieri" tourists. English is welcome. Run by a family.

For a taste of Italy authentico go here! They have a good menu and it is homemade and heavenly. Crusty bread, pasta that melts in your mouth and hearty wine- the recipe for a great dinner. Mama's homemade gnocchi are not to be missed!!

My friends and I dined at this restaurant during our 2 day visit to Rome. We were hoping to try some homemade pasta and pizza at a small, local Italian restaurant - Su and Giu Cucina Romano was exactly what we were looking for! The waitresses and owners were extremely attentive to our needs. The food was so delicious, especially... More

We were the first customers on opening and the service was quick for the first course but the main came way before our stater was finished. No denying the food was good but the staff seemed to hover and take empty plates from the table whist still eating, I found this pretty annoying. The main (lamb) didn't come which anything,... More

The restaurant was full when we arrived (always a good sign) so we sat outside and then met Daniele who explained all the best parts of the menu. We ordered some anti-pasti, the risotto balls and they were delicious. We then had some Gnocchi which was the best i have ever had anywhere. The place had a great family feel... More

The name means kitchen up and down, the restaurant is up stairs ,down stairs and ground floor. We dined there 4 times ,the first so wonderful we had to go back.My husband a gnocchi lover said it was the best he had ever eaten, very light with beautiful sauces. The standard menu has a variety of beautiful tasting food, the hard thing is... More

Recommended by our hotel staff for Pasta. And it was wonderful. Welcomed like family. And food was delicious. Daniele was a delight. His recommendations were perfect. From the appetizers to dessert. And he spoke English very well, too. 5 Stars!!

This restaurant was recommended to me and my husband by the owner of an Inn where we stayed while in Rome. (Btw, Castel Sant'Angelo Inn offers excellent accommodations.) This was one of the best meals we had in Rome. It’s a family-run restaurant, and you can tell they put their heart and soul into it. It’s not “touristy” and is... More

Our experience of Su & Gui was mixed. The service started out very warm and friendly, offering us many Italian specialty foods 'freshly prepared by the family'. I had the Gnocchi which was very nice, my partner had the cod which was not up to the standards we expected. It was clearly not fresh and rather dry. The waiter did... More
