What a wonderful evening we had at Alfredo e Ada! We showed up at 7:30 (late for a North American) and were one of the first ones in the restaurant! There was a girl who spoke English who helped us out, and with hand gestures and pointing, the owner was nothing but helpful. We had one of the best meals... More

The menu is scribbled down on small napkin and explained in broken english. But the food is very good and this is for a small fee. You cant book a table, just show up and hope there is a table available. A small genuine gem.

Finding this trattoria is much more difficult then liking it. They do not have a menu and Alfredo (I presume) sits down at your table and write the menu on the paper covering the table... :-) It is a very small trattoria with about 22 seats but it's worth a visit and it feels like home. The food is excellent... More

Not much has changed since I reviewed this restaurant in 2012; the rotary dial telephone, the cantucci, the booths... the only change appears to be an increase in the number of dishes available - we wandered in for lunch late one Thursday afternoon, and there were only a couple of other people in the restaurant. The food was excellent, wine... More

This tiny eating place caught our eye as we strolled through Rome's narrow streets. The food was simple and delicious and the atmosphere charming.

We have found this place by total chance, we were just looking for a place to pee – there are barely any public toilets in Rome! It was the first time in my life, that I didn’t get a menu in a restaurant, but probably that is why I loved the place so much! The lovely owner/waiter was explaining us... More

We found this tiny restaurant by accident. Tried to return a day later but it was full as it only has about 20 seats. Many local guests. Great food for great prices. Lovely "old" place.

We used our tripadvisor app to find this place one day and it was a Great Find! You could easily walk right past it as it is not very noticeable. Had we not been looking for it we would have missed it. Download this TA app as it is Great! You do not need Wi-Fi fo use it. As others... More

Quite hard to find - between Castel Sant'Angelo and Piazza Navona - but worth the effort. Great prices, very cosy, good food but no menu - the owner, a warm friendly gregarious chap who only speaks Italian, greets you with what is on offer, since they have no menus. It was around 23Eu for two courses and wine, as well... More

We were walking around Rome looking for a restaurant and suddenly find Alfred e Ada. A small place, five or six tables, only Italians were having lunch there, and italian was the only language they understand. Mr Sergio, the owner, serves the tables, and explains the main dishes, since they do not have a menu. But you can order anything... More
