We first visited Ada's 5 of so years ago and have talked about it ever since. Small, charming, "authentic" - and delicious. We loved the very small menu and the no frills approach. So a return visit was a priority this June when we found ourselves in Rome again. Going back to a place that has taken up such space... More

My husband and I went to Alfredo e Ada on our honeymoon and it instantly became the one restaurant we tend to talk over and over again about to anyone who will listen. The place is small and almost hidden. The owner speaks no English but will grab a chair and sit at your table as he explains (in Italian)... More

Alfredo e Ada is by and far my favorite restaurant in Rome, and perhaps, anywhere. It is the only restaurant we have been to twice here. BUT be prepared for a wait (there are only 5-ish tables), an oral menu, and a limited menu. To me, these qualities make the restaurant that much more endearing. The food is outstanding and... More

We lived on the same block as this restaurant for several months in 2013, and I was really excited to check it out. I guess the "show" was good -- the limited menu that is narrated, not written; the check written on the paper tablecloth; the wine casks from which glasses are filled by a spigot -- but the food... A fantastic experience at Alfredo e Ada's for dinner. This is nothing to do with the number of Hats or Stars. It's about the love of food and serving it in an atmosphere that feels like you're dining in your best friend's house. Only 15-20 seats so don't go if you'd mind sharing. A great if limited range of dishes,... More

My wife and I were visiting Rome on our honeymoon, and after an incredible morning at the sposi novelli service in Vatican City, we were looking for a special place for lunch. What we found instead was the defining experience of our entire trip (if you don't count getting blessed by Pope Francis) and one of the best meals we... More

Over 18 months later, this is still one of my favourite restaurants in Rome. In addition to the earlier review, I'll simply point out that the menu is relatively fixed (depends on seasonal ingredients, but if you go three days in a row, you'll probably notice the same items on the menu all three days - I know this because... This is a small place in Via Banchi Nuovi, close to Castel sant'Angelo and 10 min walk from Piazza Navona. Local simple food, home coocking, light wine, inexpensive

This place was probably our favorite in Rome. It's a casual, homey, cozy place with really delicious food. Loved the way they write out the day's menu for you on the table, and patiently translate into English what you can't make out. It's really small, so you may end up sharing a table with strangers. But very charming place, and... More

We were very tired after a long walk and very hungry. We followed TripAdvisor and went to Alfredo e Ada. It wasn't late but the restaurant was full and we spent some time waiting for a table. Alfredo invited us in and put a big piece of paper on the table instead of a normal table-cloth, kind of cute pragmatism.... More
