I can't understand the great reviews on this site. I got the "Roman" menu. First: zucchini blossoms with anchovies. Deep fried, too salty, too greasy, basically inedible. Second: Pasta with pomodoro and mysterious meat - the pasta was just fine, but not memorable in any way. Third: Pressed chicken with some kind of fried potato discs. The flavor of the... More

The food here is delicious, with an extensive menu and free prosecco/snacks on arrival. However the staff are overly attentive and it was not at all relaxing. It is probably better to eat here late at night when the restaurant is busy and the service is spread a bit more evenly. The vegetarian options are minimal.

Based on the great reviews we headed over to Pagaroma with high expectations. We arrived a little before 8:00, dressed nicely. The place was empty. Asked if we had a reservation, which we did not. Immediate sour faces from the staff. We were shuttled over to a blank corner. We were given the most incredible prawn/zucchini appetizers (on the house)... More

Greeted within a minute of sitting down by a glass of prosecco and lovely appetiser, this was only the beginning of a fantastic set menu. Overall, it was a very good evening and I would say is one of the best restaurants we have visited in the past three weeks (including rivalling three with one or two michelin stars) in... More

We went here on our last night in Rome and it was one of the best dinners we had during the entire two week vacation. I agree with other reviewers that it should be higher on the list of restaurants. The service was very attentive and gave us a complementary prosecco and appetizer at the beginning of the meal and... More

I do not understand why this restaurant is not near the top of the list of restaurants in Rome. The food is outstanding: really good fish, seafood and pasta. We began with a complimentry prosecco and ended a delightful meal with a complimentary liqueur. Both were unexpected and were a nice surprise. The staff were friendly and helpful. The waiter... This was our 30th wedding anniversary meal and possibly the best meal we have ever had. Had the Degustazione on the basis of a tripadvisor review and was just blown away by the variety and quality of the fish (note, much if it raw). Staff were very helpful but not intrusive. Nice touches were the unexpected appetiser before we ordered... More

Staying in Parioli

Neighborhood Profile
Parioli
Young and well-to-do families are the street flavor of Parioli. A new kind of Rome, this area is centuries away from the Renaissance with its pockets of 1930s palaces, tony boutiques, open-air markets and plenty of coffee shops. Parioli was built as an enclave for last century’s haute bourgeois and still represents as such in 21st century Rome. Need a break? The area has several great sporting clubs known for tennis and riding, a wonderful modern art museum, easy access to the zoo (Europe’s oldest), and is nestled around Rome’s very best parks including Villa Borghese, Villa Ada and Villa Glori.
