Best Gelato in upper Italy (maybe in all of Italy)

It was our 2nd day in Rome, vehicle loaded, leaving the city for Firenze and traffic was HORRENDOUS!! And this place was quite a ways away from the Colosseum and in the opposite direction from where we were headed. Did I mention the HORRIBLE traffic? Well, we were about to give up when we finally... read more

Ice cream here is good. However prices are quite on the high side. You get a tiny cone (not really a cone actually) for 2.25euro.

This one was a 15 second walk from our hotel and we could look down on it from our hotel balcony. Although not as popular as Gelateria La Romana it still had a steady flow as did all gelato shops in Rome. It was very good and actually not as sweet as some. I enjoyed both. What's there not to... Not like the tourist trap ice cream. Real, thick & original flavours. My favourite was the really dark chocolate. Detour if you're in the vicinity. We're heading back tomorrow night :)

Easily the best gelato I've ever tasted. Looked best gelato on rome and this was on a list of great places. It's a little out of the way, depending on where your staying but trust me it's worth the trip. They make the gelato in house and you can see the machine they use through the big glass windows. It's... More

AMAZING gelato. We went back the next day for more. Freshly made and you can see the kitchen. Limited flavours compared to some of the more central and touristy places but the menu changes seasonally. Epic pistachio flavour, great chocolate.

Best gelato I had in the city, the flavours compared to other places were just so much tastier. If youre close by it's a place definitely worth stopping in at.

The gelato is good, not exceptional, but quite tasty! The man who served me was from Moldova and spoke to me and my friend in Romanian! Nice staff, very friendly!

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
