We stayed at the close Hotel Sant'angelo for new year's and we were suggested this restaurant by the concierge. Everything was excellent: we went for dinner and had 2 fantastic pizza capricciosa and shared one scalopini vino. All accompanied by very refreshing Roman wine. We will definitely come back on our next trip!

Good restaurant, genuine italian food. Wine fine and inexpensive. Turned out that the locals were fighting to get one of the many tables. By and large you will not go wrong here.

Enjoyed the antipasta, pasta la francescana, pasta with tomato sauce and bacon (pancetta) and veal saltimbuca. The tiramisu was excellent.

This place was recommend by the hotel and we got 10% of our bill which made this place very good value. The service was slow however the staff were friendly and it was a very busy lunch time. We had lovely bread to begin with baked fresh which was very nice, I had the veal with Marsala and butter with... More

We are a couple and wanted to have our dinner at a nice real italian restaurant. We had a table outside and ordered some drinks including the recommended red birra morretti which is an amazing strong beer. Fantastic, thanks for the waitress recommending that beer. Need to mention they only had one chilled and because we wanted another one she... More

We found this restaurant on our first night in Rome & ended up coming back the second night too! The food here is lovely, and it's such good value! They do an antipasti buffet option - which is a buffet bar for a starter. It's only 5.50 euros and it is really really good, a selection of mozzarella, tomatoes, grilled... More

We ate here on my cousin's recommendation. The restaurant is fairly simple and basic as far as atmosphere and decor, but we ate outside anyway. The food was top-notch and the prices were rock-bottom. They served the best veal marsala I've ever had - the sauce was great and exactly what you'd expect, but the veal was cooked perfectly... tender... More

Five of us went here on a Monday evening and it was pretty busy. There was a menu in English and the waitress spoke good English as well. I had the pasta with goats cheese and black pepper for my main and enjoyed it immensely. The homemade tiramisu was very good and the large beers at €5 were good as... More

We spent four days in Rome, and after the first evening, every day we had one meal here, either lunch or dinner. While the exterior may make La Francescana seem like a very typical restaurant, the rules around "avoid the restaurants that have English menus" don't apply here. Over 4 days, we managed to try about half their selection of... More

When we were in Rome in late July this restaurant was recommended by our Hotel Manager. We are SOOOOO glad they sent us there! A small, hole in the wall kind of place - but so amazing. The Antipasti bar changes a bit every day and is very fresh. We had pizza one night, pasta's a couple other nights. All... More
