Excellent food, excellent atmosphere and great service. The best place we ate in rome; family run restaurant with nice relaxed atmosphere, fresh food at great prices. The tiramisu is delicious (I had to ask for the recipe, will try and recreate back home!). Great experience all round, definitely recommend.

We found this to be a nice friendly place, good service and great food. House wine was lovely, would recommend.

We had a really enjoyable meal, excellent value, home cooked Italian food. There seemed to be many locals in the restaurant, which is usually a good sign. Having read the other reviews I agree this is a traditional Italian restaurant, but visitors ARE welcome, the waiters DO have a basic grasp of English - far better than my Italian!...and between... Visited last weekend with my partner. We chose this place to eat as it was near our hotel. Food was very good and freshly cooked. I had the salmon pasta, with a side salad and it was very tasty - pasta cooked al dente as pasta should be and with a very good sauce. Delicious desserts to choose from. Decent... More

Just been here tonight and it was really, really good, we had pasta mains, all freshly cooked and served with side salads and some dessert to die for, havent got a clue what anything was called but it was delicious. I must say the staff only speak Italian really, and for the first few minutes it was a little awkward,... More

Very mixed review considering my overall rating....we LOVED the food, very authentic and home made (dont expect posh) not the nicest atmosphere or decor but again food was amazing. Bill took about 20 minutes or more to get to us, very slow considering they were not under staffed but we did not let that ruin the food experience because let's... More

I have NEVER been treated so poorly and taken advantage of. Not only did we wait forever for the food we also had to wait 20 min for the bill. When we asked for the bill we waited another 20 min. When we received the bill we noticed an extra 3.00 euros. When we asked we were rudely told it... More

Dear Customer, first of all I want to tell you that I'm so sorry for your bad experience. I didn't remember of you and your daughter, so I'm not sure about what's happened; but just let me to replay at some of your complaints: 1. "waiting for the food": almost all our courses (all the pasta surely) are express, so... More

Some got their food 20 min before the rest. The steak was overcooked. Fries was terrible. The red wine tasted like it was mixed with water. The sauce was good..

Dear Customer, thanks for your review. Only few words as you wrote..you consider our special "hand made fresh fried" terrible, probably you prefer the frozen one? It all comes down to personal taste. And make sure of the wine isn't mixed with water. Kind regards Enza More

We went there because it was really crowded with people which usually indicates good food. It was average. We had a simple starter and a pizza and it was okay although they burned a bit of the crust. But what i have to say.. they gave us wine.. and i was pretty sure i was in italy but it was... More

I was in Rome this past summer with my family, la Francescana was unreal! Pasta, fish, and not to mention the creme caramel at the end of the meal was to die for. Everything we ate was an 11 out of 10. Massimo made us 2 pizze margherita as an appetizer to share w the table and they were deliscious.... More
