Description: The pub takes its name from the world renowned Irish National Theatre, which was founded by William Butler Yeats and Lady Gregory.Stage props and costumes from the storerooms of the Abbey Theatre have been used in the decor, giving the pub a very special atmosphere. The six fully air conditioned rooms of the pub are spread over two floors, and a huge range of Irish whiskeys, cocktails and long drinks are on offer, as well as Irish beers on tap including, of course, the famous Guinness. The Abbey Theatre offers irish, italian and international cuisine all day everyday. We are able to show all major sports throughout the pub on 14 TV screens. ( NFL, Premiership, Serie A, Rugby World Cup...). The pub has a happy hour during the daytime, live irish music every week, and free Wi-Fi.The pub also offers private parties or weddings. Our welcoming pub, is considered one of the best in the city and it is laid out in typical Irish style with lots of little rooms linked by narrow corridors.

A welcome alternative to the overwhelming array of pasta, pizza, panini, wine, and gelato. The atmosphere is warm and traditionally pub-ish. Irish whiskey was plentiful, Harp was on draft, the beef in Guinness was tasty and warm, and the staff (Michael & Hannah) were great to chat with.

After many temples and sculptures and paintings and whatever silly cultural stuff, it was nice to have a good irish red beer and taste Ireland in the heart of Rome.

Me and my girlfriend decided to come to the abbey theatre for a evening meal, we had already enjoyed a lovely evening at another Irish pub in Rome with the levels of hospitality you would expect from an Irish pub, unfortunately the Abbey Theatre showed us some of the worst service i have ever experienced. We grabbed a table and... More

Came across this bar while looking for somewhere relaxing to eat as most of the restaurant in Rome are very expensive and the staff are extremely RUDE. Was very pleased with both the service and the friendliness of the staff. The food was very good (we had the stew). There was no pressure to purchase anything and we sat watching... More

We found it hard to find a bar in Rome! The lads in the restaurant told us about it but when we went around to it the bouncer told us it was full - it was packed to the rafters, we left disappointed. We did however return a couple of hours later and we were delighted to get in. The... More

Needed somewhere to watch the City game on Saturday. Glad we came across this place. Staff were friendly and the food was good (Proper Fish and Chips and not that American crap). Nice pint of Kilkenny and the barmaid had excellent banter. If I was 20 years younger......

I have been to Rome 3 times in the last 12 months and I have to say this was a welcome site in an very beautiful but expensive city. The staff were friendly and you could have a laugh and a joke with them. The food was mixed fare from Irish to Italian including burgers. Reasonably priced and very good.... More

As a family, we tried to go to this Irish pub for a few drinks and to watch sports - imagine that! To our surprise, we were bypassed and folks were pushed ahead of us as "eating dinner" so we were told to go to the attic where someone was to be with us shortly. Although we did finally get... More

cannot believe how myself and my family were treated when we came here on Saturday. I'm studying abroad and been here once or twice and thought it would be a good place to take my football fanatic parents for the Saturday game. We got pushed around, told to move several times, cursed at by the staff, and accused of not... More
