Sublime - and well priced, too!

Truly one of the better meals we have ever had. I was rather afraid because it is so trendy our large group would feel somewhat restrained but not at all. Everybody couldn't stop raving about the food and the attentative (but not overly) service.

Four friends went on a trip to Rome to celebrate our 40th birthdays. L'Asino d'Oro was recommended to us for the big birthday celebration dinner, and it was absolutely perfect. The service was quick an unobtrusive, and they made us feel like princesses. At the end of the meal we were spoilt with free coffees and limoncello. The wine list... More

We happen to be staying in Monti the trip and spent our day at St Peters and the Vatican. We missed a mid day meal and needed sustenance as well as a good meal. Our Rick Steves guidebook suggested this place and I'm So glad we came I had the chocolate wild boar, my daughter craved pasta with sauce and... More

Overall I give this a 5 but wish I could give a 4 1/2. This place is all about the unique menu. I am pretty adventurous, but others in my group felt the 'foodie" menu was too limiting for them and they stuck to the basics - ravioli and ribs. That said, everything that came out of the kitchen was... More

Slightly off the beaten path but still walkable from the town center. Awesome ravioli! Excellent service.

L'Asino d'Oro is a restaurant that you have to visit while in Rome! Coming from a culinary city such as Melbourne, we were very impressed with the restaurant's menu. We ordered snails in tomato sauce, veal in curato sauce, pasta with truffles and wild boar in chocolate sauce. Yum Yum and more Yums!!!! The service was excellent, too! We will... More

I found this place through reccomendation and it was fairly close to my hotel. The staff were friendly and welcoming and helped with advisement on what to try. The bizarre and wonderful menu is intriguing enough to make you want to try it all. I asked the waitress for what she would personally reccomend and I went with the stewed... More

Highly rated by Trip Advisor And a local journalist we met, but we were not impressed with the service. Good food, but after the food came we were ignored. Sitting inside, walked passed a dozen times, No one asked how the food was or if we wanted more wine or desert or anything else (that is how it works, right?!?).... More
