We have been a few times and the food is always exceptional. The staff are very friendly and warm and the place has a nice modern feel. A bit pricey but worth it.

If you like plain boring mediocre cooked food don't come here! The menu is very interesting, the food combinations genius, and all cooked to perfection and the service was excellent. Word of advice try to save room for the trio of desserts.

This restaurant caught my attention in my research for two reasons - the amazing reviews of the food AND the even more amazing 13 Euros lunch deal that includes a first, second, dessert, and even a glass of wine. We chose this as our lunch place on a Saturday. Immediately I became "suspicious" when we did not get a menu... More

I had read amazing reviews about L'Asino d'Oro and was worried it wouldn't live up to expectations but it surpassed them. It is a small restaurant on a little street in the lovely area of Monti. First impressions were of a attractive, modern designed restaurant though the lighting was a little bright. The service was warm and professional. The menu... More

We lived near this restaurant, we had previously read all those great reviews about it and decided to have lunch there since it was full for dinner the night before (we were there at about 1pm and in an hour it was full). The deal was really impressive! 13 euros each person for a 3-course meal (wine included if I'm... More

The restaurant opens at 7.30pm and we wandered in at 7.20pm. The staff was very friendly and asked us to leave our names and come back at 7.30pm. We were lucky to get seats as we were early but the restaurant was really filling up when we left so it might be prudent to make reservations. We were served a... More

The restaurant is in the Via del Boschetto close to the Banca d'Italia. Inside it is modern and the furniture is perhaps a bit cold, but that is absolutely NOT the case for the service and the food. The food is inspired by the Umbria region with its great tradition. All of the dishes are however interpreted in a modern... More

Staying in Monti

Neighborhood Profile
Monti
Monti is Rome’s rebel yell. This neighborhood just west of Termini train station mixes grit with fun as it continues to fight for its reputation as a magnet for the artsy, alternative, and hipster. Every season, quirky boutiques and food spots sprout up on its cobblestone streets. The neighborhood supports unique and homegrown businesses that cater to its longtime residents as well as hipsters on the hunt. Hang out at Piazza della Madonna dei Monti anytime after lunch and you'll always find something going on.
