If you are hungry after hours in the Vatican Museums, walk just 2 more blocks off the cheap touristic restaurants and you will find this pearl. The staff was welcoming (but no hassle!), the food was really excellent, very well presented and abundant. With an busy afternoon ahead, I stayed with beer; the beer menu shows a choice (and description!)... More

Quality food, friendly service, good wine, full of locals. Had this been our first dinner in Rome, we would have eaten here each night. Reservations a must!

As soon as we walked in, we were impressed. The restaurant was full of Italian families and groups of local friends having lunch. Always a good sign in a foreign city. The service was attentive and cheerful and the food very tasty and plentiful. The pasta was freshly cooked and just al dente.I was also impressed by the cleanliness of... More

Absolutely one of the best Resto in Rome. The quality of the food and service are excellent. Self- made delicious pasta, good list of wines (they also have half bottles), wide variety of good traditional Italian food from the starter to the second course, the crew were accommodating and service oriented. Quality wise, we paid less than we expected and... More

Very good traditional Italian osteria with delicious food. We had anjovies with zucchini, fried artichokes, lamb chops, and meat balls in orange sauce. Very nice "artisanal" food of high quality. Make sure to have a reservation, the first time we tried to enter without a reservation (at 13:00) if was fully booked! The restaurant is very comfortable, warm (in winter,... More

We went as a family. The kids had gnocchi which were a treat, my wife had pasta which were very nice. And I had joue de veau, which were over the sky. They also serve special beers, which are also very very good. The 4 of us paid 49 euros for a main dish and a drink each. Very good... More

Located worrying close to the Vatican, so cheek by jowl with some real culinary dross, Osteria della Commari delivered some welcome surprises. Now, this is a proper restaurant. Proper table cloths, cloth napkins, the lot, but the staff didn't blanch at the site of my malodorous offspring: in fact, they were wreathed in smiles. Menus in French were presented (my... More
