Let me start by saying that frequent customers receive a differentiated treatment there - a previous reviewer had said that they serve bruschettas on the house. Well, that was only applicable to the people that were clearly their some-time-customers. We received the regular bread as it happens in most restaurants in Italy. My husband wanted to drink wine by the... More

My wife and I were lucky enough to be taken here by some Roman friends and we had a wonderful meal. Our friends ordered a selection of starters and it just seemed to keep coming! We had oysters, dressed crabmeat, anchovies, mussels, langoustines, squid, and octopus (and other dishes I can't remember!) For main course, half of us had their... More

Specialist fish/seafood restaurant. It probably helps to know what you are looking for here. Some of the "standards" were fine but not exceptional (seafood salad antipasto, seafood risotto) but out of the mainstream, things really looked up e.g. moscardini (fried baby octupus). Excellent selection of appropriate wines - lots of Sardinian vermentino. Service seemed a little overbearing at first -... More

Antipasta meal had 8 plates instead 12-15, as it has been declared in comments here. Oysters, mussels, octopus were nice, but the rest had just too much vinegar. Pasta with shrimps was tasty. Service was excellent, the waiter was attentive, speaking english good. We wanted drinking two glasses of wine, and there was only one sort of wine that we... More

Absolutely excellent food, wine and service and nowhere near as expensive as we thought it would be, considering how good it was. Only a 5-10 minute walk from the main train station.

It is very difficult to find a bad restaurant in Rome, easier to find something so-so, but every so often you can happen into a restaurant like Il Molo so that you are convinced it could not be better. But I warn you: You have to love seafood of all kinds. The service is wonderful - in fact, so wonderful... More

We had a group of 12 and were seated together to the side of the front room. We ordered seafood platters to share which were very good. Lovely wine.

The pasta didn't have many toppings in it, the seafood platter was mediocre. Not worth the price for the portions.

The service we had here was excellent. The restaurant had a nice cosy atmosphere. Upon arriving at the restaurant we wanted to sit outside, however all the tables were taken. Half way through our meal we noticed there were some open table outside and we asked if we could move. The staff were very accomodating and immediately took our food/wine/etc.... More

I am from New York and coming to Rome every year. I am a trained chef. Il Molo is the bast food you can find in Rome for a moderate price ( full dinner for one with wine, appx. 30-40 Euro ). Its not your regular tourist trap. It's the real deal. Mediterranean,Italian food prepared with expertise. Don't expect it... More
