Professional fish business restaurant

We went there on a Wednesday night at 20.00. Way too early for Italians to eat. We were the fist in the restaurant / terrace. We started of with pulpo and salmon. Both very good though, the salmon a bit greasy. Then we had steak and fried fish platter. Very good. The service was very professional... read more

I follow two rules I follow when it comes to eating out on trips: 1) Try the local cuisine, and 2) Don't eat at at the same place more than once unless it's that good. I was in Rome for about a week, and I stumbled over this place because it was a short walk from the hotel. On my... More

This was recommended by a friend and was some of the best seafood we had in Rome. At the end of the meal they deliver a bottle of grappa and il mirto sarijo to the table. This is complementary and really a great finish.

We had a late lunch at il Molo and we were surprised to find this great seafood place! The restaurant has a Sardinian background because dishes and wines are typical from that region and I must say that the food is delicious! Rome is not famous for seafood dishes but il Molo is the choice if you're after good fish!... More

Be sure to make a reservation, because it's quite always full. Be sure to order the classic antipasto of the restaurant, only seafood.

Didn't have a reservation but agreed to wait about twenty minutes for a table, along with a couple of others - no worries! It started to go downhill after this; the waiters move at about 100mph because the place is packed, little space between tables and the menu offers quite a wide range of stuff, so if you know what... Came in from a long flight and found this gem right by my hotel. Seemed like a popular locals spot since there werent any tourists dining there. The salmon pasta was perfectly al dente and had great flavor. My mother had the seafood risotto which I thought was good not great but still very fresh. Would recommend!

The first time we visited this ristorante, we noticed that the host at the door mentioned to all of those who looked at the outside menu "Solo pesce" (only fish). That was because many visitors to Roma expect pizza, carbonara and bolognese. This place has pasta but it is a seafood pasta and a lot of very fresh, locally caught... More

Let me start by saying that frequent customers receive a differentiated treatment there - a previous reviewer had said that they serve bruschettas on the house. Well, that was only applicable to the people that were clearly their some-time-customers. We received the regular bread as it happens in most restaurants in Italy. My husband wanted to drink wine by the... More

My wife and I were lucky enough to be taken here by some Roman friends and we had a wonderful meal. Our friends ordered a selection of starters and it just seemed to keep coming! We had oysters, dressed crabmeat, anchovies, mussels, langoustines, squid, and octopus (and other dishes I can't remember!) For main course, half of us had their... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
