Best restaurant we've been to on our honeymoon! We were full after the appetizer and thought that was the whole meal, then he brought out the second course. It was SO much food and so good! Excellent food and excellent service!

My local friend brought me to Il Molo and within minutes we had a whole table of delectable seafood antipasti. These were fresh and unique in flavours. My favorite was the octopus and vongole. The cold seafood platter was served next and I enjoyed the oysters, raw shrimps and clams. We also had a great choice of paccheri with fish... More

Title says it all. Fresh fish, good selection of fish. Tried my first oysters here. Located next to da Vincenzo. Wine is good. Prices are good. You're looking to pay over €60 for starters, mains, sides and drinks.

I stopped here because It was next to my hotel. For some reason I ordered the wrong thing , and when they noticed I wasn't eating it they offered to exchange it for no extra charge. My second dish was great . I did not get charged for bread as some people on here did . Maybe it was because... More

Busy restaurant, we were seated inside. Was rather warm in June. Serve was very good, food excellent and well priced. Seemed to be a family business. Lots of locals eating there. Only complaint we were billed £6 for four slices of bread and we didn't order it. Also £2 per person

We went there on a Wednesday night at 20.00. Way too early for Italians to eat. We were the fist in the restaurant / terrace. We started of with pulpo and salmon. Both very good though, the salmon a bit greasy. Then we had steak and fried fish platter. Very good. The service was very professional and while we nearly... More

I follow two rules I follow when it comes to eating out on trips: 1) Try the local cuisine, and 2) Don't eat at at the same place more than once unless it's that good. I was in Rome for about a week, and I stumbled over this place because it was a short walk from the hotel. On my... More

This was recommended by a friend and was some of the best seafood we had in Rome. At the end of the meal they deliver a bottle of grappa and il mirto sarijo to the table. This is complementary and really a great finish.

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
