Good. Service was nice!

We loved our server. She was extremely personable which is hard to find in people in service. We had the swordfish tartar. It was lovely! Our favorite appetizer. My husband and I shared pesto pasta and sesame tuna salad. The salad was typical Japanese fair, similar dressing to kona grill's salmon... read more

The Fork mixed up our reservations, but the staff graciously sat us anyway without much fuss. The wine was great but the really impressive highlights were the flavor of each dish, selected daily by the chef. The meet and cheese plate was enough for a meal, but the fresh meats, and the delicate mozzarella, along with the smoked mozzarella was... More

We dined here on a Saturday night, having failed to pre-book three other restaurants in the area close to our rented apartment. Luckily for us, although we turned up without a reservation, we were welcomed in on the promise of vacating our table by 9.00pm. The restaurant is up a side street behind the Lungotevere dei Mellini and the location... More

First of all, the Google map does not correctly show the location of La Dispensa. It's on the West side of the Tiber, on LungoTevere, several blocks north of the Ponte Cavor bridge.

I recently tried this restaurant for the third time and concluded I will not go back. It is small and charming and the wait staff are very nice and knowledgeable. However, the food was over-complicated and worked too hard to be different. I literally could not eat the carbonara it was so salty. My previous trips were not barn burners,... More

Our hotel recommended La Dispensa. The menu was so impressive and well explained by the charming staff. We had the Carpaccio de Pesce Spada (Swordfish) all beautifully presented with a Roman Gazpacho. The gnocci vongole with asparagus and zucchini flower was wonderful as was the Loin of Pork with Marsala sauce . Our first night in Rome and couldn't have... More

I found this place on tripadvisor while searching for a restaurant near the apartment I rented in Rome. We almost walked right by it as the lights were off an no one was inside. I learned that Romans have dinner after 9pm and it was only 7:30. We were warmly greeted and were the only ones there got a while.... More

We read about this little place on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a go. Wow are we happy that we did! Really nice waitress, both cute, kind and helpfull in every way. Food is great and a bit unique. Wine was at a good value, tasted very good for the price. Its a bit small, a lot of locals... More

I went to La Dispensa in 2009 after going to a wine class earlier that evening. The menu was on a chalk board however the waiter did an amazing job explaining what everything was in English. The food was amazing and the staff was equally amazing. I'm happy to say that I will be returning to Rome in a few... More

Vegetable tempura was wonderfully crispy. Two fish dishes were cooked and flavoured very well. Dessert had us fighting to see who would get the bigger half. And the relatively cheap white wine didn't taste like cheap white wine. Place and waitresses were charming. All the dishes I smelled and saw delivered to surrounding tables, I wanted.
