This is a nice family-run pizzeria. We tried pasta carbonara and pizza caprichosa - both dishes tasted good. Although I wouldn't go so far as to name this food the best we had in Italy, nevertheless it was perfectly fine and a great value for money. The area near Termini railway station is... read more

Both of us took pizza. Sorry to say, but I make better pizza at home. The pizza bread was hard as a rock, few ingredients on it, and very strange, but they put a quarter of hard boiled egg on capriciosa. Quattro stagioni was very greasy. Group of People on the other table were arguing about the bill, which was... More

We chose this little place for our last supper in Rome and had a great authentic home cooked meal for a fraction of the price we had spent anywhere in Europe. Walk right past the other restaurants taking up half the street. This place is quaint with maybe 15 tables. Mom, dad, grandpa, grandma etc are cooking and serving you.... More

After a friend recommended me this restaurant, and told me about the menu price (10€ for a first course, second, side dish and home made dessert with water or wine), we decided to take a look and give it a chance. Greeted by the owner, a skinny old man around 60 yo, who wanted quickly to introduce himself, ask us... More

After 4 days in Rome this was our parting meal. Looked good as was in the warm March sun, a fairly quiet street with a bus every 10minutes which in Rome is quiet. Staff reasonable. Prices very good. All was going good until the Carbonara was served..... Greasy, oily, lumpy, stodgy, bland, awful They offered us Lasagne instead but based... More

Was approached in the street outside and offered the 10 Euro "tourist menu" - pasta dish, meat dish and side, and a dessert, with water or wine - so decided to give it a go. Was not disappointed! Great, homemade food, with generous servings. For 10 Euros, the quality and amount of food was very surprising. Stayed for coffee (3... More

I ordered a spaghetti cabonara which was amazing - the best I've had! It was obviously home-made with very fresh ingredients, and was excellent value for money at only 6euros. The restaurant was also very authentic with white tablecloths, good atmosphere, a wall covered in a selection of wines, and many Italian families enjoying themselves. However, the standout was definitely... More

We visited the restaurant on two occasions as it was close to our hotel and the termini. A family run restaurant with lovely food and great coffee. We took advantage of the 10 euro meal for entrée small main and wine or water plus dessert. A small restaurant which is the norm for italy so be prepared to sit close... More

Was looking on trip advisor for somewhere to eat after arriving at Termini and the reviews pointed me here to Santi, a lovely little family run business! Had a pizza, proper Roman style, with Salame, mozzarella and pomodoro - delicious! Although I probably could don't with a sharper knife. Had a lemon sorbet for afters which was also lovely -... Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
