I hate reading other people's supposed "best food on their trip" reviews, but this place was it for me. Being seated initially sucked, but we were new to Italy and didn't realize you just sit if there's an open table. Once we finally had menus after 10 minutes (a huge table of 12-15 had just sat before us, and they... More

Had a dinner here, busy place with many locals so a little waiting as we had not reserved table. The wait was worth the while as we received fantastic pasta with good wine! Not a bad price level and not bad service either so all in all very good experience with tasty real homemade Italian food!

Bland flavors.....nothing special. Worst meal and service of our 17 day southern Italy and Sicily travels.

Myself and my brother accidentally found this place but because it was Raining we decided to go in and try the pizza (it was amazing) we both loved every bite of that pizza the young woman that served us was very helpful and spoke English which was really helpful as we didn't speak any Italian and not too pricy either.... Taverna Romana, near the Forum, was a superb experience. We went twice in 6 days. It is not a tourist trap by any means. First night we were the only non-Italians there; second time there were two other couples of non-Italians. Great local Italian food. English menu. We were treated wonderfully; smiles all around. Some unique dishes headed by oxtails... More

Second night in Rome and ate dinner here on advice of Rick Steve's Rome book. Real authentic food at a reasonable price. Staff was swamped, but attentive. Very small space in restaurant so be prepared to make friends with your neighbors. Felt like I was dining at a friend's house. Everything that my husband and I ate was great. Pasta... More

Small restaurant, looks very authentic but is a place focused on tourists. Quality of the food is ok, good value for money. The restaurant has no terrace and inside it was very hot. When you pass by it is ok, not worth making a detour.

It was a little hard to find at first, bu my husband and I had the best meal of our lives here on July 29 2014. I had the spaghetti alla carbonara and the succulent lamb chops. We had the house white wine which was very tasty. Then tiramisu for dessert. I would definitely love to visit this restaurant again... More

We had lunch in this lovely restaurant after reading an online review. It really was a breath of fresh air from some of the dodgy Rome tourist trap restaurants. Tasty, simple food. Restaurant is very busy with lots of locals so service is a bit rushed but that is the nature of the restaurant. Superb lunch!

I read a small article in a 2010 Budget Travel magazine and swore I would stop here to eat if I ever got to Rome. Well, fate would have you that our apartment was not that far and not only did I get here once, but twice! It was that delicious!!! I even saw the owner, and stopped her to... More
