Small and cozy place with very friendly staff. The best Cacio Pepe we had in Rome. Also the Carbonara and Amatriciana were great. Would suggest to end your meal with a Tiramisu

We had a really nice meal here. The prices are very reasonable and the staff friendly. The place is small and has interesting decor. I can recommend it.

I have previously struggled to find somewhere to eat in Rome, close to a major tourist attraction, that was either good value, or anything other than very average food. But on this most recent visit we succeeded wonderfully at La Taverna Romana. The resultant is close to the Colosseum and Forum, but tucked away enough to be off the beaten... More

The best carnonara I've ever had. Cacio e pepe also the best I had in a small sample of 5 days in Roma. Service is straightforward but they were nicely accommodating to the 2 of us, as we had no reservation. The dining room may be a little crowded and warm in the summer, but hey...it's July and these guys... More

One friend recommended this place describing it as one of the few authentic places to eat within central Rome. Totally true. One has the feeling of dining at his imaginary Italian grandfather's place, 60 years ago. Great starters, gnocchi and tiramisu.

My husband and I found Taverna Romano in our Rick Steves book we bought for our trip around Italy. We liked the local atmosphere of the Monti Neighborhood and thoroughly enjoyed our meal!

This is a wonderful little restaurant in Rome. Our food was fresh and delicious and the setting was just like you would picture in a movie. We shared 3 different pastas and they were all amazing. Treat yourself to a great meal here when in Rome. Enjoy!

One of our better meals in Rome because of diversity of choices and deliciousness, including fresh pastas with vegetables. My only complaint was the Vignorola had frozen peas in it, rather than fresh. Otherwise it was a perfect meal (though one person ran the entire floor for taking order and bringing them out, it was an amazing feat!). Tip, in... More
