Great food, not so good attention, don't miss it if you are near Colosseum

Great tagliatelle, if you are close to the Colosseum you have to go to this place, but do it early, it gets full of people early and you can wait an hour for a table, it's a trattoria in it's more classical sense, no fancy here. I disliked the attention but the tagliatelle are the best ones.

Very cozy restaurant, always crowded, delicious pasta and deserts. Some dishes are always out (bruschetta, pasta vongole). Prices are very reasonable for Rome!! Vino de la casa could be better!

After a long walk round all the Foro's and entering Via Cavour we knew that there should be a right place to have lunch. Not a restaurant, but The Restaurant! Et voila - luck was on our side. Taverna Romana - hidden on narrow Madonna dei Monti. You could instantly smell inside that it is The Italian place. Small square... More

On out last night in Rome we were going to spend some time walking around the area of the colosseum and have a last dinner at a nice local spot. We used Yelp to get a few options and Taverna Romana was one of the options. Another was down the street that was not available so we walked down the... More

Small and cozy place with very friendly staff. The best Cacio Pepe we had in Rome. Also the Carbonara and Amatriciana were great. Would suggest to end your meal with a Tiramisu

We had a really nice meal here. The prices are very reasonable and the staff friendly. The place is small and has interesting decor. I can recommend it.

I have previously struggled to find somewhere to eat in Rome, close to a major tourist attraction, that was either good value, or anything other than very average food. But on this most recent visit we succeeded wonderfully at La Taverna Romana. The resultant is close to the Colosseum and Forum, but tucked away enough to be off the beaten... More

The best carnonara I've ever had. Cacio e pepe also the best I had in a small sample of 5 days in Roma. Service is straightforward but they were nicely accommodating to the 2 of us, as we had no reservation. The dining room may be a little crowded and warm in the summer, but hey...it's July and these guys... More
