This is a late review as have been waiting for Mauro to send me the Tonnarelli recipe he promised me but despite requesting it in both Italian & English I am still waiting - please Mauro !!! The restaurant is quite difficult to find being not in the CBD & down an alley . Our dinner was a birthday treat... More

Long story made short we spent 3 weeks in Italy for our Honeymoon and we traveled to all the major cities in Italy. This was our first meal and one of THE BEST. It's a hard place to find and we walked past it 2 times. Me and my wife and 4 other people were the only ones in the... More

We had seen reviews of Machiavelli's on Trip Advisor and decided to book a table for our trip to Rome - and we weren't disappointed!! The owner, Mauro, knew who we were as we walked in and made us feel so welcome. We received a complimentary glass of prosecco which we had whilst he talked us through the menu and... More

Booked in advance to dine at this coveted restaurant per tripadvisor. The hostess was wonderful and the servings of alcohol copious; however, the meals sounded many times better than they tasted. As my Italian friend once said - if you want to eat well in Rome then dine at a Jewish restaurant.

Food and ambience was simply excellent in this "hard-to-find" but very special little hidden place. Mauro knows best about his food, origin of ingredients and wines! You can ask him anything and he will make some time for you! Would definitely come back any time!

Booked 1 week in advance for a Friday night through our nearby hotel. What really makes this restaurant special is Mauro - going around talking to his customers and giving good advices about the food and the wine - in very good English if you do not speak Italien. Very pleasent from many other restaurants in Rome. The menu was... More

We had located this restaurant a couple of days before visiting. It is just off Via Machiavelli, and isn't very well lit at night. Anyway, we visited on Weds 18th of June. Sadly however, we hadn't made reservations, so when we arrived (quite late) and even though there was a couple of empty tables, they were booked. The reason for... More

Mauro made us most welcome even though we were late invitees to a semi private dinner. You need a big appetite to eat here. We started with a red onion pasta, followed by a big plate of assorted meat, more pasta this time a duck and aniseed spaghetti followed by a chocolate desert. We drank wine recommended by Mauro and... More

Warning: if you're looking for a romantic atmosphere: do not go here. This place is small and is not very nice looking. However, the food was great! Not typically Italian, but great! Mauro, ofcourse, had the best ideas for food and wine (the wine was ok. Not very good). When we got the bill we were very surprised: normally we... More

My boyfriend and I visited Club Machiavelli one night in May 2014 and had one of the best meals of our lives. We would give Machiavelli's ten stars if we could! We had booked a table by email - the restaurant was quiet when we arrived at 7.30, but quickly filled up with a mixture of tourists and Romans, and... More
