In the real city centre, very affordable prices...real real Roman kitchen! Generous portions. The waiter was very helpful, smiley and funny. I had carbonara which was as it should be and a Trippa alla Romana (just to topped it off...); wide wine list with (again) affordable prices and good quality wine Well done boys, keep up the good job Grazie!!!!

The Osso Bucco was so salty that it was not even edible... We asked for tap water and eventually had to pay 3 euros for a bottle of water.

The four of us were interested in dinner close to our hotel on 4 nights during our stay in Rome in early May 2014. Although we had a list of potential restaurants near our hotel based on TripAdvisor reviews, the night clerk at our hotel recommended Osteria al 16 as one of our options. It is a very small restaurant... More

Descent food, service and prices. If you stay in the area is ok to spend a night there but there are much better restaurants in the same city block. All clients were tourists and it was full house not only the night that we dine there but every night during that week we were around.

Two fo us stole away for an evening meal in Via del Broschetto - a narrow lane with a wealth of eating choices; unfortunately, whilst Osteria al 16 was pleasant enough, we came away feeling that we might of chosen better! The portions were good, service friendly, but the meal was at best average.

Certainly did not represent Italian cooking.Big mistake ! We should have realised by the faces of diners at tables around us. Food poor, staff indifferent, only lightened up at bill payment when tip was expected. Avoid minestrone, ravioli and anything covered in their sour red sauce!

Our last night in Rome, we walked down our street to Osteria al 16; probably the best lasagna we had on our entire trip! If you want to get feel of a neighborhood restaurant in Rome, near the colosseum, this would be a great place to go.

Total accident that we ended up here for dinner, we were trying to hit one our favorite spots in town but it was closed. They had GF pasta that could be substituted in with any of their sauces, two of our family of four are GF so we were so excited to find this place. The table wine was good... More

Pleasant atmosphere, large portions (be were), unfortunately only one waitress. Food was ok. A place that seems mainly for tourists, fairly priced.

In Rome many restaurants are closed on Sundays, so we were excited to find this neighborhood place. The food was good. Would defiantly go back but might not be our #1 choice.
