For out last evening in Rome, we wanted a special meal. Taking heed of the advice that while the piazza dining was charming, the best food was on the back streets, we followedthe Tripadvisor reviews and found our way to Al Duello just a few blocks from our hotel. What a great choice! Charming staff which really hustles although the... More

We visited Al Duello based on the reading about it on Trip Advisor. It is located near the busy Pantheon area but on a short ( 1/2 block street) that makes it somewhat hard to find. However, it is truly worth the effort. Many of their 7.30 ish customers seemed to be Trip Advisor readers as well as we heard... More

Al Duello is a little hard to find but, once there, you'll meet Martina and everything will be OK. Martina (front of house) and her husband (chef and back of house) bought the restaurant about a year ago and make you feel you've stepped into their home. We had three dinners there and didn't ever read the entire menu. We'd... More

I hadn't scoped a restaurant for a Saturday night dinner in Rome and the family was very concerned, so during our pit stop back at the apartment I started trolling the review sites. After some looking I kept coming back to a 5 • (!!) restaurant on TA that happened to be um....right next door to our flat...so we went... More

Absolutely recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants a fine dining experience in Rome. Started the meal with the Burrata cheese appetizer, which melts in your mouth. It was one of the night's specials. Had an entrée consisting of a filet of beef with a mustard sauce which was cooked to perfection and the sauce was superb. Finally for dessert... More

We went to Al Duello upon TripAdvisor recommendations. The evening started well. We had no reservation but arrived early and got a table. The starter and primi were fantastic....but that's were it ends. The entrees were disgusting. One one the worst experiences with food in my life. I had a fish covered in ?alfredo sauce? while my husband had a... More

We stumbled into this Restaurant on our first night in Rome...couldn't have gotten luckier! After a long day of 'touristing' we only stopped for one course and some wine but everything we ordered was amazing! Service was excellent and we enjoyed the quiet atmosphere. Highly recommend!

We discovered this wonderful restaurant while looking for a nice place to eat in Rome. Upon arriving, we were greeted warmly by one of the owners. The setting was comfortable, yet very intimate. I enjoyed perusing the wine list - to which the owner was very knowledgeable, suggesting a Super Tuscan wine - a 2010 Guidalberto Tenuta San Guido -... More
