Reliable basics

Typical inexpensive and simple tourist place, but pleasant, reliable and good food. Spaghetti carbonara was quite tasty, as was the gnocchi with pesto. Vegetable contorni were ok. Great location. Be warned, does not take Visa/Mastercard.

The most fantastic food, great staff and very reasonable prices . I had 3 course meal and hubby had 2 course meal with peronis and half litre of wine and Bill was just 44 euros, we were also given a glass of home made limoncello (the best!!)on the house whilst waiting for our bill. Hubby also reckons that the bread... More

Just had a great lunch here, lovely food and staff, and a refreshing drink on a hot day of sightseeing. Right by the Pantheon, highly recommend

Found Miscellanea in Rick Steve's book. They are right behind the Parthenon and apparently nearly across a street from a school or day-care. Watching the parents picking up their kids was fun - and what security they had there! Everything was very good, the only caveat was that the excellent waiter did not speak much English and couldn’t answer DW’s... More

We arrived too late to get into the Pantheon so we consoled ourselves with an al fresco dinner. Miscellanea is located at the right rear corner of the Pantheon and we were able to sit down at a table immediately. The atmosphere was casual, the food was simple but very well prepared. In fact, the grilled chicken was the best... More

This place is easy to miss but you really shouldn't. The food is good, the prices ok and the staff nice and fast.

We ate here 2 nights running as the food was so good. It is at the back of the Pantheon. First night we had grilled chicken and baked potatoes and sliced beef with rocket salad followed by tartufo and strawberries and ice cream. All washed down with a bottle of house white and water with complimentary bread. Cost 53 euros... More

Pretty normal choice on menu. We got there early; few customers at that time; still was difficult to get server attention. Pasta choices were admittedly pedestrian, but we made them. Bruschetta was great.

This 'Hostaria' behind the Pantheon offers descent food and drink at a very reasonable price. The menu is quite rich in choice. The food is prepared well. Staff is very friendly. It's not a fancy place, nor has it that ambition. What you see is what you get. A solid place to keep in mind when you're strolling the busy... More
