Casual dining and good food

Just two blocks from our hotel this was our "go-to" place when we were just too tired to walk and try somewhere new. They had a large menu to choose from and everything we tried was excellent. We had pastas and salads mostly. The price was reasonable and one of the better priced places we... read more

I wandered into this great hosteria on a previous trip to Rome and made this the first place to bring my family on a return visit to Rome. The location behind the Pantheon can't be beat. Overall our favorite meal in Rome. Great food at reasonable prices with a friendly staff. Plus watermelon on the house for dessert.

We read a review saying this place was good for feeding hungry students and travelers. We are both, so we thought we would give it a go. The restaurant experience was excellent. I would not call it fine dining, necessarily, but it gave us large portions for reasonable prices. The food itself was delicious and authentically Italian. I would recommend... More

This was our first meal in Rome and we were disappointed and a bit concerned that rest of the food would be similar (luckily it wasn't!). We had the carbonara and a mushroom pizza and neither had much flavor. We ended up adding all the Parmesan cheese they gave us. The service was also poor and the waiter was rude... More

We had a blast at Miscellanea. By no means will it be mistaken for a fine dining experience. However, the fresh food is tasty with large portions. The gnocchi and spaghetti with clams were both delicious. We also had the pleasure of sitting next to one of the owners, who was a riot. It's a nice location right by the... More

Perfect place for an end of tour lunch. Within easy walking distance of the Pantheon. We had pizza, salads, lasagna, and pasta, along with beer, water and soda and plenty of bread. The bill for 8 came to about 110 euros. The food was good and the service excellent. The staff was friendly and playful. At the end of the... More

Basically right behind Pantheon. We dined here two nights and loved it. Great pizza, great Caprese Salad, attentive service. Extensive menu, popular with tourists due to strong Rick Steves recommendation. A great value and avoid the touristy outdoor cafes that can be disappointing.

Right behind the Pantheon, here you can get good pasta, or veal or chicken for a great value price. I believe our entire bill for 4 people with main dished for all and appetizers and coffee and wine, was 55 Euros. Service was good, and they joked around with us. Not a tourist trap like Ive seen elsewhere. I recommend... More
