This is a MUST in Rome

If you can only enjoy one dinner in Rome, go for Marco G! Outstanding food, an extensive wine selection and a fantastic service. We managed to visit twice within a few days and tried a lot of their dishes - it's all very delicate - and they even offered to split the primi so we each had two... read more

I was introduced to Marco G's by a local partner. They said that it was respected by locals and tourists alike, and I found out why... The food is the perfect example of traditional, homely Italian cooking. The portions are very generous and the house wine is fairly priced and very good. I thoroughly recommend the cheese and meat board... More

We visited Marco G on our last night in Rome. We would recommend visiting this area of Rome at least one evening during your trip - great atmosphere with winding streets full of bars and restaurants. Marco G's was fantastic - both food and service. We both had a pasta dish to start, the best we had in Rome. To... More

Typical Roman cuisine few steps away from "Porta Settimiana", Trastevere. Ideal for any occasion Marco G offers intimate corners, space for business/friends and outside tables. Local food is delicious, service is very professional, wine selection is excellent. It's not a typical Trattoria, it's a step above. And don't forget you pay for what you get

Early in January I was invited to meet up with friends from overseas at this place. We had lots of chatting and catching up to do and the leisurely relaxed atmosphere was the perfect place for us. We were not rushed into choosing and we were left to peruse the menu over a glass or two of the house wine... More

We enjoyed this restaurant. We didn't reserve a table but, even on a busy Friday night, one was found. The menu was varied and extensive. The wine list was large and from across Italy. The food was excellent as was the service and great value for money. The atmosphere was also warm and the restaurant busy and buzzing with chat... More

We had the "Pasta degustation menu" which included 3 types of pasta, the "pene"(might be wrong about the name) pasta was way too "al dente"(not done enough) for our taste. The ravioli was interesting though. Also you usually don't have great expectations about the house wine, nevertheless I could not recommend it.

My friend and I went to Rome for a few days as a part of our trip to Italy back in March of 2013. I remember looking up on Trip Advisor for one of the best Italian restaurants in the city. Marco G came up and after glancing at the reviews, we were set. Although we got lost and it... More

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
