Top Italian real Pizza

Excellent Pizza bread , you can tell they use good mix of the propper flours to make their pizza and good mozzarella. It is a must and not all the pizzerias do it. The place is unformal, but they are nice and kind.

Tasty pizza at excellent prices (around 9 euros), great service (the pizza was ready in less than 10 minutes), fantastic place to eat something during a walk around Trastevere (not a place to a extended meal, it's a small simple place)

This is a cozy little spot when you are getting tired of thin Roman pizza. You feel slightly heretical for taking on the Neapolitan vibe but then you taste the crust and know why you're there. I recommend the Caprese when you need some veggies; it's a salad on the crust.

Pizzeria Nerone is one of our favorite places in Rome. It is a MUST for all our relatives and friends visiting us in Rome. There is for all tastes and preferences: varied vegetables pizzas, mushrooms, salami to the most authentic mozzarella di bufala, sausage all featured with the most delicate tomato sauce and freshest ingredients such us cherry tomatoes, basil... I loved it. It's crowded but the pizza is totally worth it. It is also cheap and so tasty. I recommend it. I was there based on a recommendation from an Italian friend

If you want a really good pizza this is the place! They also serve excellent fritters which arrived piping hot at the table. Most of the waiters only speak Italian but do their best to understand. Very friendly place that we would love to come back to!

we'v been there on 27 march 2015. my reference for pizza is Al Porto in Arco Trentino (not the one in Torbole). If one compares the pizza from Nerone with Al Porto then i would give Nerone a 6 out of then. The Pizza doesn't taste bad but it is just not the best Pizza In Rome. So in my... More

We just didn't understand why you needed to publish (or to advertise) a name of another pizzeria to measure our quality. Is that pizzeria an accreditedly recognized as the quality reference point? More

Ticks all the boxes if you're looking for good pizza. Good fast changing atmosphere as there is a constant flow of customers coming and going. Pizza comes fast and tastes good for a good price. The feature of this place is not the decor... pretty under played. NB: they also do take away...

We visited this restaurant on our second evening in Trastevere as the previous evening we had dined opposite and seen hoards of people entering so assumed it must be good. The restaurant appears to be split so the front area is for the tourists and the rear for the locals. We did feel a little like second class citizens because... More

We are glad that you liked the pizza which is the most important part of your review. However it is not true that we have two halls one for tourists and the other for the local people. We accomodate our guests according to their number, their arrival time and their reservation. Probably when you were in the restaurant, in the... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
