While visiting Trastevere we saw this sympathetic looking restaurant with tables outside in the sun and shade. It was a surprise to read that this restaurant was run by an organisation that helps people " with a distance to work" to get experience. Our lunch here was wonderful. The food was really good!!, the people so friendly and helpful .... More

This trattoria in the heart of Trastevere serve good Italian food for acceptable prices. The best with this place is the friendly staff and the great location.

I had dinner on my last night in Rome at this place. The location was cute, atmosphere was nice. The food was not exceptionally good, but it was ok. The service was nice. They offered me a second glass of wine since I had to wait too long for their standards between two courses...I did not think it was so... More

I believe that the concept they've created ( working with people with disabilities ) is extremely nice but it can't be an excuse for the quality of the food where the price is quite high. We ordered a lasagna ( which was average good though really small for the 10euro we paid for it ) and a caesar salad which... More

If you get a little tired of the constant hustle, this is the place for you. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the restaurant is almost tucked away in a small square in Trastevere, but also in the middle of everything, so you can sit and people watch. The staff are extremely charming without being grating, it's all very laid back... More

If you decide to visit the Trastevere area, you should make sure that you don't fall into these more than common tourist traps. This place is simple, good and friendly. The cause they support (make people with disabilities work with professionals) is great and the service is the better for it. Traditional Italian food, home made and generous. You can't... More

Saw this in a guide to the city and wanted to go and discover this area anyway. Loved it, lovely atmosphere and the staff were sweet and efficient and it is in a good cause. This extends to the wine list choosing small vineyards and a great choice at that. Stuffed pasta and nibbles to start such as stuffed olives... More

It's located at a nice small piazza and you can sit outside. I'm quite picky (read foodnerd) when it comes to choosing restaurants and was a bit worried since I hadn't read any reviews. We had Vitello Tonnato and Polpette alla Cacciatore. Delicious!! (And less than 15 €/dish) Would also highly recommend the Tiramisu and Creme Brûlée! The staff is... More

Nice quiet square in Trastevere, close to the bigger noisy squares of the neighborhood but with character of its own. We discovered this place with great food and service, some original dishes and old favorites. I loved the lasagna. We also liked their mission and coop business model.

Thank Bob L

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
