We asked the concierge at Palazzo Manfredi for an unpretentious, simple, friendly wine bar and that's what we got with Pentagrappolo. It feels like a local residential neighborhood, despite being so close to the Colosseum and the varied wines by the glass, prosciutto and cheeses help you feel at home very quickly. As other reviewers have mentioned, there's live music... More

Really nice, relaxed atmosphere and a very friendly owner. Wines by the bottle or glass. Food is mainly cold meat and cheese dishes. Live jazz music on Fridays and Saturdays.

Walked into this place just by chance and had a very nice meal as we were not looking for a large meal. It's not your typical pasta place but a laid back wine bar with a suitable menu. So you can sit back and enjoy the food, atmosphere and music. All in all very enjoyable

The atmosphere is great, truly relaxing after long sightseeing. It is close to the Colosseum but not a tourist place, very nice and friendly. Recommend salads and the live music nights at weekends.

Keen on organic and natural wines? Go here. The passionate and friendly owner has an excellent range of - sometimes hardly heard of - wines, mainly coming from Italy. Some older vintages too which certainly adds value, we had an 08 Maremma for just €25 per bottle, excellent choice and peaking now. There was a guy playing some guitar music,... More

Stumbled upon this little wine bar after visiting the Colosseum. They have a good selection of reasonable priced wine by the glass, and an extensive range of other Italian wines by the bottle. Friendly owner who will pause to have a chat with you.

The host is a very pleasant man who is very excited to tell you about his wine and his food. I had a very enjoyable dinner my last night in Rome and this place far outshined the others in the touristy area where it is located.

Great little wine bar with friendly host, If you enjoy wine, chat with Simone who will provide you authentic selections at reasonable prices. Background music, some vinyl albums, is relaxing. Would love to be there when live music is playing on the on the baby grand piano. Looking forward to my next trip to Rome.

Simone is serving the best organic wines you can think of and is a great host too. They also serve some great Italian standards like the Melanzano di Parmigianna.

We were delighted to find this little wine bar, hidden up a street, five minutes from the Colosseum. The nibbles of food were tasty, the wine was absolutely beautiful and all for a very reasonable price. We asked the owner for his reccomendations based on our tastes, and he went all out to make sure we enjoyed our experience. Highly... More
