Description: La Fontana di Venere is a small, delightful restaurant located in an ancient building in the centre of Rome, near the Trevi Fountain. The owners will welcome you heartily and make you feel like part of the family. You'll take a seat, and maybe the person sitting next to your table will be a taxi driver enjoying a well-deserved rest with his family. He'll tell you how much beautiful Rome is and will talk about a niche that only he knows. Or maybe you will meet some travellers and then you'll have a little talk about the memories and emotions that every journey leaves inside us. Every day and every night, in this little corner of the ancient Rome, the ritual is repeated: dozens of people come here to rediscover the flavours which made the Roman cuisine famous and it seems like you're having dinner with many friends. Come in, relax, look at your neighbour and enhance your presence with a smile, you have a lot of stories to tell each other....

We discovered this place thanks to tripadvisor, and what a treat that was! After 4 days of disappointing meals in Rome and giving up on good italian food, we went to this place, and we had the most amazing meal. We had the bruschetta to start with, then I had a nice linguini with pesto sauce and prawns and my... More

We ate dinner here twice during our stay in Rome last week, it was close to our hotel so very convenient but we returned simply because the food, service and atmosphere was so good. A real local Italian family restaurant, everything we chose was excellent. Do make a reservation to be sure of a table, it is very popular.

Just around the corner from trevi fountain but up a quiet lane so not easy to spot. My wife and i were blown away by the food. Super tasty & fresh. Service was friendly & quick even though it was busy. We were disappointed with most other places we ate at during our 6 day visit in Rome but this... More

Loved this first Italian dinner meal in Rome! We stumbled upon this place, had to wait one hr. to get in, and found it worth the time! The food met our expectations of fine Italian dining, we had great wine recommendations, and the staff brought us limoncella, gratis, at the end of our meal. Could not have kicked off our... More

Lovely restaurant, we went with 2 children, 9 & 12 and had the set menu - Venus. Excellent value at 20Euros each. Plenty of food and waiters were very helpful and friendly. Best meal we had in Rome.

Very friendly staff, good food without being fantastic. Given, that it is bang in the Fontana di Trevi's area, I would have expected less to be honest. We tried the Breasola, rocket, parmesan (breasola on the dry side and quite salty, they forgot lemon on mine), grilled vegetables were ok, fetucine bolognese very good, bruscheta pommodoro ok. Coffee and limoncello... More

After booking for a 1230pm lunch 15 mins in advance, we were greeted warmly. The waiter listened to our preferences for appetizers, first course and second courses from both a food type and quantity standpoint. By the end of the meal, all five of us felt completely nourished with delectable plates, and we didn't waste one bite. The price was... More

When my husband told me he wanted to try this restaurant near the Trevi Fountain I said "no way -- it will be a tourist trap with terrible food". He said the Trip Advisor reviews were amazing so we went with me very ready to say "I told you so…" When we saw they were handing out leaflets advertising the... More
