Description: La Fontana di Venere is a small, delightful restaurant located in an ancient building in the centre of Rome, near the Trevi Fountain. The owners will welcome you heartily and make you feel like part of the family. You'll take a seat, and maybe the person sitting next to your table will be a taxi driver enjoying a well-deserved rest with his family. He'll tell you how much beautiful Rome is and will talk about a niche that only he knows. Or maybe you will meet some travellers and then you'll have a little talk about the memories and emotions that every journey leaves inside us. Every day and every night, in this little corner of the ancient Rome, the ritual is repeated: dozens of people come here to rediscover the flavours which made the Roman cuisine famous and it seems like you're having dinner with many friends. Come in, relax, look at your neighbour and enhance your presence with a smile, you have a lot of stories to tell each other....

Very typical Italian restaurant in the Trevi district. Food was tasty but not outstanding, menu was quite ordinary. Service was excellent and prices were very reasonable. No cover charge or service. The ambience was a little strange, almost like a caffeteria with tiled floors and utilitarian tables and chairs. We just ate a seafood pasta course with wine as we... More

My girlfriend and I visited this place twice and each time it made us realise there is good food in Rome that won't cost an arm and a leg. The staff are awesome and speak excellent English. The atmosphere is friendly, but the food is the best bit. They have set menus for the cost wary and a great selection... More

Ordinary menu but what a fantastic taste! Surprisingly! They just get the best taste out of the ingredients. I got for example the best Chocolate Fondant I have had for years. Staff is always there for you and they take care of you. Highly recommended.

Excellent food, great service, nice atmosphere, very close to Fontana di Trevi. One of the best places I had eaten in Rome. Fair prices (eg 10 Euros Carbonara Spaghetti dish).

Both pasta dishes were exceptional, full of flavour and filled with seafood. We ate a seafood carbonara and seafood linguine with some lovely wine. The next table to us was very close but all round a lovely restaurant.

Food average, place not specially nice, really common. Service nice and good. Better pasta than pizza. To sum up not agree with the ranking in trip advisor.

Living in Rome as a study abroad student, finding great restaurants the are not tourist traps are ideal. Rome, like other major cities world wide, is full of restaurants that poach you off the street from a very touristy area and give you an expensive, low quality meal that leaves you unsatisfied. La Fontana di Venere is not one of... More

As a student here in Rome for the past few months, I've had the opportunity to do some traveling and find my favorite spots for any particular food. Luckily I was introduced to La Fontana early on in the semester, as it has hands down been my absolute favorite place in Rome to eat!! Over the course of these few... More

La Fontana... Where to begin... Well I guess I'll start by stating the fact that in my honest opinion, this is thee best restaurant in Rome without exception. Not only is the food absolutely wonderful but the atmosphere and staff are even more so. I'm a college student who's been studying in Rome for the semester (I'll be here four... More
