Description: La Fontana di Venere is a small, delightful restaurant located in an ancient building in the centre of Rome, near the Trevi Fountain. The owners will welcome you heartily and make you feel like part of the family. You'll take a seat, and maybe the person sitting next to your table will be a taxi driver enjoying a well-deserved rest with his family. He'll tell you how much beautiful Rome is and will talk about a niche that only he knows. Or maybe you will meet some travellers and then you'll have a little talk about the memories and emotions that every journey leaves inside us. Every day and every night, in this little corner of the ancient Rome, the ritual is repeated: dozens of people come here to rediscover the flavours which made the Roman cuisine famous and it seems like you're having dinner with many friends. Come in, relax, look at your neighbour and enhance your presence with a smile, you have a lot of stories to tell each other....

La Fontana... Where to begin... Well I guess I'll start by stating the fact that in my honest opinion, this is thee best restaurant in Rome without exception. Not only is the food absolutely wonderful but the atmosphere and staff are even more so. I'm a college student who's been studying in Rome for the semester (I'll be here four... More

Located in the Trevi fountain neighborhood, on a quiet street. Very good food and nice wine list. Very friendly waiter, helpful with the menu. The temperature was quite warm in the restaurant when we got there but our waiter took care of this. He told us he was from Bangladesh, don't remember his name.

After flying into Rome this evening, I had pre-booked this restaurant following great reviews. I can only assume these reviewers ate somewhere vastly different. We ordered a medly of pastas, a large salad and potatoes to share. The salad was boring: a few leaves, sweetcorn and grated carrot, the potatoes enjoyed a greasy swim in oil and the pasta was... Went here based on the TripAdvisor recommendation. We took one of the set menu's. The appetizer was so big that it could easily have been a meal by itself! Absolutely super lasagna! The wine was not so good. The owner (?) was very chearful and friendly. The other waiters/waitresses seemed incredibly rushed. During the meal a flute player came in... More

This meal was only average. It was nice that it was tucked away from the touristy Trevi Fountain, so it wasn't as crowded. I ordered the Bruschetta and Lasagna della Casa. I did not like the bruschetta. The tomatoes were just not very good and the bread was a little overcooked. My lasagna tasted good enough. The only problem with... More

We had visited this restaurant about four years ago and it has since changed hands and been remodeled. We did not have a reservation on a busy night, but they moved things around and made a table for us. The service was exceptionally friendly and accommodating and the food quite good. We had ravioli with butter and sage, a peppercorn... More

We had the best meal here during a trip to Italy. Some friends had been there and HIGHLY recommended it. It's a little hard to find, and didn't open until 7PM. It was worth waiting for. EXCELLENT food, great service. If we were staying closer to this hotel we would have gone back! It was a little bit of a... More

We would never have found this restaurant without Tripadvisor... It's realy hidden away in the narrow streets. Overall food quality is real good, and everything tastes great. The service is friendly and welcoming, from start to finish. If you look around you, you see all the other guests that also found this place through Tripadvisor... So it does feel quite... More

We ate there twice at the beginning of October 2014. It is in a quiet backstreet within a stone's throw of the Trevi Fountain. It is an unremarkable street with no shops or attractions, and is not even a shortcut to anywhere of interest to tourists, so only people who live there would be likely to venture along it.. All... Another visit to Rome. Another wonderful meal. The staff, the food and the ambience are wonderful. We didn't get to see Antonio this time, but we were very well looked after by his staff. We highly recommend this restuarant , it never disappoints.
