Fish.

Don't trust people in reviews that tell you "it's a ripoff", fish IS expensive and if you want to eat good fish you have to pay for it, and believe me: theirs is as good as it gets. So all you have to do is sit there and order the raw fish, they will bring you what they have (which... read more

The restaurant is great...If you want to eat fish, this is a very good address. It's better to reserve a table to make sure you get one. A bit expensive, but this is a fine restaurant...so 140 euros for 2 antipasti (seafood), and main course (including lobster, fresh fish...), wine, and a dessert for two is reasonable...

Arrived for our reservation, restaurant was busy, we were seated promptly - offered our choice of two terrace tables. Yes, wine list is amazing, but fairly priced. We had no problem bridging my horrible Italian with our servers' far superior English, especially Calin (from Russia) and Mohammed (Morrocco.) We ordered our wine but before we could look at dinner menu,... More

This was my first time trying Carpaccio and it was wonderful! As the person who was not paying, I had a great experience! However, the person who was paying seriously regretted the decision to go here. He has a background as a professional chief and said that the price did not match the quality of the food. Also we got... More

Even if the fish at Assunta Madre is fresh and the cuisine is good, it doesn't forgive the bad welcome, service and attitude if you are not a local regular or a celebrity! I hate this "service a l'italienne" (table not ready at 21h15 for an 20h45 reservation, being given the worst improvised table in the back garden next to... More

In this place you can choose the fish literally when it arrives from the boats... Amazing quality. Not to be seen in many restaurants! Cooked at perfection -if you don't like it raw- and super tasteful!! Great wine selection THE place to be if you in Rome, if you love fish, if you like chaotic family ownedplaces -in a positive... Do you want to have freshest seafood? Do you love that seafood cooked deliciously? Do you want to eat that seafood in a same place where Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Samuel L. Jackson and many-many others were eating same food as you will? Do you want to be serviced by nice, polite and experienced staff always ready to help?... More

After a very convincing recommendation I and a number of friends booked a table. We arrived full of expectations. The restaurant was very busy, which is a good sign. However, this time it did not reflect at all the quality of the service. We ordered, waiting time was ok, but the wine did nor arrive with the mail course, but... More

The menu here is very hard to read and interpret as there is no explaination , for example grilled fish- I had to ask what fish this was to be told I had an option of three. Ordered the only hot starter to share for two which was six tasting plates, came to the table so quickly it was a... More
