Excellent quality and good ambiance

Nice restaurant with quite good ambiance. But the leading role is played by the fresh seafood served, that is of the highest quality. The starters selection of fresh seafood is a must, very tasteful and large in quantity, simply mouth-watering. We had fish stew as main course, it was huge and one... read more

Even if the fish at Assunta Madre is fresh and the cuisine is good, it doesn't forgive the bad welcome, service and attitude if you are not a local regular or a celebrity! I hate this "service a l'italienne" (table not ready at 21h15 for an 20h45 reservation, being given the worst improvised table in the back garden next to... More

In this place you can choose the fish literally when it arrives from the boats... Amazing quality. Not to be seen in many restaurants! Cooked at perfection -if you don't like it raw- and super tasteful!! Great wine selection THE place to be if you in Rome, if you love fish, if you like chaotic family ownedplaces -in a positive... Do you want to have freshest seafood? Do you love that seafood cooked deliciously? Do you want to eat that seafood in a same place where Al Pacino, Robert De Niro, Samuel L. Jackson and many-many others were eating same food as you will? Do you want to be serviced by nice, polite and experienced staff always ready to help?... More

After a very convincing recommendation I and a number of friends booked a table. We arrived full of expectations. The restaurant was very busy, which is a good sign. However, this time it did not reflect at all the quality of the service. We ordered, waiting time was ok, but the wine did nor arrive with the mail course, but... More

The menu here is very hard to read and interpret as there is no explaination , for example grilled fish- I had to ask what fish this was to be told I had an option of three. Ordered the only hot starter to share for two which was six tasting plates, came to the table so quickly it was a... More

The restaurant is full with rich people from all over the world. Pricing is expensive. Fish is fresh but we didn't like the atmosphere... The service was professional and good

We visited Rome for New Year, and were staying in a hotel up the road from Assunta Madra. The restaurant is beautifully decorated, and the staff are so welcoming and helpful. We choose the taster menu, which was fabulous and made the evening so exciting not knowing what to expect next. All of the dishes were delicious, and I have... More

2 different rooms, one more old style, another modern design. The firts impression is good, with all the fish displayed when you enter the restaurant. Service can be a bit overwhelming, especially when they have less customers; when it is full, then service becomes more a forgotten word... The shellfish starters were all very good. I wish i could say... More
