Good food!

We liked everything! Food, price, service. And it was well visited, always a good sign. You have to know the place, not in a touristic area of Rome.

My husband and I both enjoyed a 3 course meal here after a recommendation from our hotel receptionist! We were definitely not disappointed! The food was perfect and the staff were very friendly and we could not complain at €73 for a 3 course meal for 2 with wine. A must try, a real taste of Rome!

We eat here 2 nights on the trot. Its a small family run place which really does italian cuisine justice. You cannot fault the food, its cooked to perfection. The service is fantastic (when I arrived the second the night, they remembered our drinks order before I even had to say anything). We didn't book and got lucky with a... More

Our first evening in Rome and looking for something close to our hotel and the Trattoria Cecio came up so we decided to visit. Very busy (always a good sign) a 10 minute wait with a complimentary glass of wine helped!! Great food and great service what else can I say and what else do you need. Booked a table... More

We came to Cecio twice during our five night stay as we enjoyed the food so much the first time. There was a lot of choice on the menu and it felt like the most authentic Italian we had while we were in Rome. Service was very good, really friendly and efficient. Definitely a highlight of our trip, we will... More

It's great to find gems like this recommended by the Hotel Morgana we had a super late super. The pasta was absolutely perfect. The ravioli was magnificent while my wife's prawns and pasta were superb. Lovely atmosphere, great wine and very friendly staff we truly loved it. All in our night cost €60 and was excellent. A very high recommendation... More

We visited for my girlfriends birthday meal whilst in Rome for a few days on the recommendation of hotel Ariston where we were staying at just round the corner. When you first walk in it is very compact and quite intimate, we were no more than 1ft away from the table next to us. However, the staff are very friendly and... More

A lovely restaurant that was very popular. The food was traditional and well cooked and the staff very helpful. Great location near the train station and hotels.

This great restaurant was recommended by the Hotel Morgana where we stayed in Rome. I must say that the dinner there was a highlight of our trip... We tried a few restaurants in the heart of the city, but this one was by far the best. The truffle ravioli was simply the most divine dish I tried in Rome. Worth... More

Conveniently located close to Termini station, we were able to walk one block from our Hotel (Morgana) who recommended and made our reservation. The restaurant itself was much smaller than I imagined but very pleasant, the furniture and surroundings were basic but did not deter from a good dining experience. There are a large number of options available for different... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
