Staff at the nearby raddison blu recommended this small restaurant. We wouldn't have spotted the place otherwise. It was a great little restaurant with superb staff (attentive, friendly and humorous). The food was the best we've had during our 4 day stay in Rome. I had the mixed grilled fish - superb. The house wine at EUR 13 was very... More

Didn't make a booking but early midweek evening received a warm welcome and shown to a table for 2. The fettuccine main and grilled vegetable starter were excellent and other 2 dishes also good. We found the service friendly and efficient. In fact 5 elderly English ladies came in and the waiter actually sat down and guided them through the... More

This was a lovely traditional Italian restaurant with a lovely atmosphere, a romantic feel and wnderful food and wine. We had some wonderful pasta dishes and even the house wine was a very good quality. Nice friendly staff and you could see how popular it was just by how busy it was. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and we would highly... More

We were recommended this place by a friend. The meal and atmosphere were authentic and very tasty. Between two: We shared a starter, got a first plate of pasta each and a second plate of meat (tip: go for the fillet rather than mixed grill as the mixed grill meat is flat and a little chewy, whereas the fillet was... We couldn't get in the first night and made a reservation for a few days later. Restaurant was full so seemed a good sign. When we eventually went food was very good but felt a little uncomfortable with the waiters. They seemed like they were doing us a favour by letting us eat there and a little condescending which is... More

This was recommended by our hotel, based on other clients' recommendations. The staff were attentive, and the restaurant itself was warm and well decorated. We had minestrone soup followed by pasta. All well cooked and presented. Ordered the Chianti Classico - delicious. Had to have limoncello too - which was topped us for us! A good restaurant - we'd visit... More

We have just returned from dinner at this restaurant, and were very disappointed in the quality of the food. We had simple pasta dishes (ragu and carbonara) for our first course, which were fine, although the egg had started to clump and stick to the pasta in the carbonara. For our second course, we selected a mixed grill and a... More

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
