Great food - very nice waiter - not too expensive

I went there with 2 friends for lunch after visiting the Vatican museum since it's close by. Despite al the bad reviews about poor service, I can honestly say we had a very good waiter. After our tour of the Vatican, we 'happened' upon this little gem of a restaurant. It was our fourth night in room. We had eaten in beautiful little restaurants but this was, without question, the 'Jewel in the Crown'. The seafood pasta was wonderful. So fresh and plentiful, with clams, Mussels and Prawns, homemade pasta and fresh tomatoes. Bresaola, rocket... More

This restaurant is close to St. Peter's Square/Vatican on Borgo Pio. They have some tables to sit outside. Their gnocchi dish was excellent. The pasta con vongole and grilled vegetables were very good. The staff is very friendly. Credit cards are not accepted.

we eat here at least once a week. Food is always good. Mussels, pasta, pizza and other dishes always fresh and enjoyable. Claudio, the favorite waiter, always makes us laugh and delivers excellent service. Prices reasonable for this touristy area on Borgo Pio near St. Peter's.

It is a street with lots of bistro. The surrounding is awesome and cozy. It is a good place to take a little rest when you are exhausted after a walk and queue in Vatican. Nicely decorated and also served good drinks and food. Have a good rest. Just that it does not take credit card.

This was exactly what we wanted after a long morning of walking around the Vatican. We shared pizza and a salad with beers and it was delicious!

Great place to eat near the Vatican. I highly recommend the Carbonara & Tiramisu - both delicious. Service was friendly & efficient.

The front patio is what got us to choose this place, and in fact the patio was the only thing that we liked about this restaurant. My father (who took the carbonara pasta) received his order maybe 10 minutes before the rest of us did... He wanted to be nice and wait for the rest of our meals but when... More

Went to this place after visiting the Vatican. Our tour guide suggested this street for lunch and we walked along until we came across this restaurant. Wasn't too busy, we were seated but it took some time to get even a bottle of water. Anyways, we ordered the bruschetta, the tomatoes were fresh and delicious, coming from Canada you can... More

Just taking a few minutes to give feedback on my lunch at this restaurant today. Chose the fettuccini porcini at 12 euros. Had to laugh when it came. Fettuccini plus one measly slice of mushroom on top and at most a teaspoon of juice to lubricate the pasta. Horrendous. As I ate it, because it had so little sauce it... More

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighborhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
