Great meal, fantastic staff

This wonderful restaurant served the best meal that we had during our 3 night stay in Rome. The food was excellent and the staff were wonderful. They didn't take themselves too seriously and enjoyed a joke with us while still providing great service. I highly recommend this place.

We enjoyed a meal here on our last night in Rome. If we had discovered it sooner we would have visited it more than once. The food was lovely and the staff very friendly . The pancotta was the best I have ever tasted. Can highly recommend this reasonably priced restaurant.

We spent 4 days in Rome and we stayed at the Vatican district. We had dinner the first night and couldn't change for the rest of the nights. Best lasagna, tagliatta and saltimbocca!!! Best waiter the one who speaks spanish! He looked after us perfectly (we hope you find your dreams car!)

I live in Rome and I like so much carbonara pasta. I have eaten this pasta everywhere but finally I have found the best carbonara in this restaurant: perfect, delicious. Today I will return to taste it again, it is like a drug. Actually I have also given a tray of my friends' dishes and they were very good too,... More

Happened upon this restaurant while exploring the city and I'm glad we did. We enjoyed a nice meal, good service and some wine. All in all, a lovely evening with rice ball appetizer, fettuccine with mushroom and seafood pasta.

I fortunately stumbled upon this restaurant while walking around the area between the Vatican and Castel Sant Angelo. The menu was a refreshing change from the usual tourist restaurants, the waiting staff were very friendly, and chatted to me before taking my order. They definitely approved of my choice of spaghetti carbonara! My food came out fresh and well cooked,... More

We were looking for an authentic restaurant , where we could sit outside and people watch, but not in the hectic tourist center. Il Mozzincone is just off the beaten path (totally walkable) from the Vatican. The waiters were so pleasant, not treating us like 'tourists', but rather like locals. The food was fantastic! The locals definitely frequent this place,... More

Service poor and they didn't have three items they had on the main dish menu. The waiter was arrogant even for requests that had to do with them not having the choices on the menu. The only saving grace is that in spite of Osso bucco, braised veal and the lamb shanks not being there, we enjoyed the chickens escalopes... More

I went there with 2 friends for lunch after visiting the Vatican museum since it's close by. Despite al the bad reviews about poor service, I can honestly say we had a very good waiter. He was very nice and even made us laugh. Our food came very quickly. We all ordered pasta and it was so delicious. Best meal... More

Staying in Vatican / Borgo

Neighborhood Profile
Vatican / Borgo
Frocked priests, colorful Swiss Guards, insistent souvenir shop owners, flag-waving tour guides, and pilgrims from around the world. This is the Vatican and Borgo, Rome's most recognized neighborhood which acts as Vatican City's front yard. Aside from the souvenir boutiques and a few food spots, the only business conducted here is papal. In the daytime, the tiny medieval sector bustles with holy activity, as visitors vie for elbow room, or stand in line for a visit. Once the sun sets, the neighborhood is transformed into a quiet and picturesque hamlet.
