We arrived in Rome around lunchtime and searched the internet for a restaurant within walking distance of our hotel. Well this one certainly didn't disappoint. We walked down the stairs to find a lovely and lively space filled with tourists and locals. The menu is substantial with something for everyone. I'd recommend the their speciality of the house - Spaghetti... More

This place gives an opportunity to try many differents kinds of pasta and other italian food.I hace eaten a tasty Carbonara!Although there were many people we didn't have to wait a long time for meals.Restaurant is popular so it is better to make a reservation, especially in the evening. But it is not a place for a romantic dinner-there are many... On our first night in Rome, (first night of our honeymoon!), we did a quick search for restaurants within walking distance from our hotel and came across Trattoria Vecchia Roma. We'd made a reservation and were seated immediately by a friendly, energetic waiter - and we took his lead on what to order. The meal was incredible; we had the... More

We ate here on the last night of our two-week European trip and we clearly saved the best for last. We tried to eat here the night before, but the restaurant was full at 20:30 and we were told it would be 22:00 before we could be seated. We ended up eating at another local restaurant - which had no... More

I came here on a recommendation from a friend and he was spot on! The bucatini al amatriciana flambé was amazing. I actually came back the next night and had it again. Not to be missed when visiting Rome! We went around 7pm and didn't have a problem getting in. But to be sure, you can make reservations. The service... More

My husband, 18-year old daughter and I dined at Trattoria Vecchia Roma on July 17. We arrived at 7:00 pm without reservations. The place was crowded but the host agreed to seat us if we promised to finish up by 9:00 because the table was reserved for another party. We loved the local vibe in this basement restaurant and the... More

We were lucky to get a table as they said we would have to wait 1 hour, but a table cancelled and we were seated. The service wasn't too bad and the wine was very cheap and very drinkable. The food was very cheap, but I was let down by the quality. We ordered calzone and the pasta special with... More

Very good restaurant. Food is really good and the clients are basically Italian. If you are not a person who usually eat a lot and I mean kind of 3 times in one meal, ask only for 1 plate. I tried the suggested menu, and I had to quit in the first plate. Recommended and I will be back one... More
