Rushed service - even though we were here at 6:58 (two minutes before opening!) and the place was not full. My 'special' -the all'amatricianna - had too much sauce, was too salty and almost every piece of bacon was fat. Yuck. My husband's swordfish was nothing special. I could have made it better at home.

We had a nice meal here on our first night in Rome. The food was great, not over the top. The ambience was subdued and comfortable. We tried to go back, but was not open on the Sunday night, our loss.

We snuck in early just after seven without a reservation, not long after the place was packed. It's quite cozy inside, if a little hectic. It seemed like a 60/40 ratio of tourists to locals, so that is a good sign. The menu is large, too much choice in my opinion. My girlfriend had the Spaghetti Pomodoro which seemed boring... More

We found out about this place through Tripadvisor as it we were looking close to the hotel we were staying. We were lucky enough to get a table on our first attempt as 15 minutes after our arrival at 7.30pm the place got really busy... There were even people qeueing for a table. When we had a look at the... More

The food is really good and tasty and probably one of the best in Rome and I am not a tourist. Here you can find all the typical Roman cuisine with the decent prices. However, the service is the worst in Rome and the city is already infamous of its service. It is absolutely normal to wait for the food,... More

A family run business which made us feel at home. The food was excellent. We came here to try their specialty bucatini all'amatriciana, and did live up to the recommendation. Enrico was attentive, as was the sister and mother. A definite place to return for authentic Italian food and hospitality.

Great selection of pizzas, pasta, seafood and meat as well as wines at very fair prices. I'd definitely recommend to book a table, people were even queuing outside.

This was recommended by our hotel. Surprisingly full, recommend to have reservations, or to come right at opening time (7pm). We arrived early, the folks weren't too friendly, but when we had our meal and order, everyone was much nicer. The house wine was cheap, not great, kinda what you expect for a cheap wine. The food was tasty, I... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
