My husband and I ate here on a one week holiday in Italy. It had been highly recommended by friends who live outside Rome. Indeed, it is away from the tourist center and seemed to have far more local guests than tourists - which is a definite positive! Unfortunately, a good 1/3 of the menu was blacked out on the... More

We live one block away from Felice and final after a dozen years decided to eat here. Compared to the other reviewers we were underwhelmed by the place. It's good, don't get me wrong, the bucatinni was perfectly cooked, the amatriciana sauce was extremely good. The wine list is extensive and not terribly over priced (although they do not offer... I sought the the essential Roman and I got it. To start, the service was impeccable. Our server was fun and personable and gave us a great wine to pick. The pasta alla grecia was mind-blowing. The cacio e pepe is the go-to, but I had it elsewhere in Rome. Alla grecia is basically cacio e pepe with guanciale. Oh... More

We literally managed to book a table at 3d attempt only. 1st and 2nd time the earliest availability we were offered was 10-30, which is way too late to eat. When we called the third time and begged we got a table for 2 (three days from when we called) at 7-30 (that's the earliest booking they have), however, the... More

Da Felice was recommended by our guide on a food tour in Rome, and we were glad to make the trip out to Testaccio by train from Termini. We were there by 7.30pm and given a table as long as we were out by 9.15 - the locals obviously eat later and the place was booked out! The food was... More

We made reservations a week in advance of our trip, and it's a good job we did as the place was packed. When we arrived at 8 there were many tables empty and the patrons appeared to be tourists. But by 9pm the locals had filled the rest of the tables. The menu is extensive but we were told it... More

This was the only restaurant we went twice during our 6 nights stay in Rome. It is always busy, so book a few days ahead, just in case. Once you are there, think no more and order the cacio and pepper pasta. Carbonara is good, but that was the best pasta we had in Italy and it is really their... More

After being recommended by a local, we made a reservation..given only the choice of 7:00 or 10:00, I think the time reserved for American tourists? We arrived at 7:00 to an empty restaurant with the employees lounging on cars in the front of the restaurant smoking. They barely acknowledged us and left us alone with the menus without any word... What a great experience! Very much a local restaurant and a little out of the way BUT the nice thing is that it was not at all touristy. Service was a bit rushed but with good intensions, the quality of food overlooked this attribute. Have the Cacio e pepe pasta and tiramisu "delicioso"!!!!!!!!

Testaccio is a region in Rome apparently off the beaten path yet reachable by metro. This restaurant had various nice options for a reasonable price. We had the roasted lamb with potatoes and it was delicious. Service was very attentive. We recommend to make reservations.
