So this place is not the great Italian culinary experiance, although the food is okay, but if you enjoy a bit of people watching I would recommend. Francesco, you are a special guy x

On my first visit to Rome, I encountered this lovely, simple and fantastic family restaurant. I spent only 3 days in Rome and had 3 meals there :) The food is amazing! Fresh, tasty, made with a lot of love and gives you great value for your money (and in Rome, its not an easy to come by). Though the... More

The first restaurant we visited and probably the most unremarkable one. There are much better restaurants in the vicinity. I ordered a fettucine primavera which should be made with a selection of spring vegetables and not just a few peas and a teaspoon of mushrooms.

After long day we just wanted some place for dinner while walking back to hotel. We only ordered pizza with chips and a bottle of wine. The wine was bad, and not cheap, the pizza was cold and not cooked properly, when pointed this out they heated it up in a microwave, it was then hot but not cooked.

We really enjoyed our meal. The staff were friendly and welcoming. It certainly has a family feel. I had gnocchi which was flavoursome and superb. The proprietor greeted us on arrival and waiters were kind and patient to our lack of Italian. Would recommend this restaurant

We went for dinner. We were greeted by the owner Roberto Pepi. Everything we ate was excellent. Insulata caprese was absolutely amazingly fresh as were our entrees. Cant remember bus boys name but very helpful and attentive. We would definitely recommend. Thanks for a great meal.

Lucky for the restaurant this doesn't offer free wifi, if this was the case we would have read the reviews online and left before we got ripped off and vastly disappointed. This was our last day in Rome, like most other reviews on here and we had just visited the Crypts of the Capuchin Order. Great museum - just don't... More

I have read your critique and you are seemed me very severe and few truthful. I am sorry a lot for the rough words that you have used for my wife, I have enough ages to understand that it is difficult for many people to be to the really place without offending other people that don't know. On the food... More

The reason that we have entered this restaurant was that at lunch time it was raining very hard. Then we have got the first impression. The wife of the owner was standing infront of the entrance to smoke! Inside we have asked the waiter for fresh fish and we got offered ROMBO and LOBSTER. Of course the menu was only... More

Mister Alster Hamburg in my local lady is going to rub people. This is demonstrated by the fact that we have weighed the fish just to avoid the surprise after with the bill . in fact you could choose whether to take it or don't order it. It is important that I respond to this review to make everyone understand... More

We went for dinner on Thursday and everything was excellent: food, service and atmosphere. We have returned also on Friday...This is a family owned restaurant and I highly recommend it. Will definately be back on our next trip to Rome..

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
