Well the owner was an absolute angel. They didn't have tomato soup but they made it for us from scratch with garlic and basil, oh so good! The stuffed ravioli with spinach and ricotta was simply delish! The chocolate gelato was wonderful and the lemon gelato with limoncello was excellent. Of course no meal is complete without an espresso macchiato... More

We stumbled upon La Fontanella Sistina just after my mother-in-law realized she got her wallet stolen on the metro. We were welcomed by the owner of the business and all of the staff. They got her a glass of wine and we ordered our pizzas. They let us use their WiFi so we could make phone calls to the credit... More

The food was just terrible. We ordered a salad and the owner asked if we would like octopus added to the salad which we agreed to. But we did not know he would charge us 18 euro each for a bad salad. We also order ravioli which were tasteless. The worst part was the cannoli because the cream inside was... More

We had dinner with three people and ordered salads, soup, pizza and a meat dish. All were truly awful in their own way, but the worst came with the vegetables on the vegetable pizza. The cook had not used fresh ingredients but leftovers. The mushrooms were in a state of advanced decay. When confronted with the facts the owner launched... More

We thought this was a man who had pride in his establishment. It was across the street from our room at the Stendahl.. We first came in and had a pizza & wine. It was, easily, the best pizza we ever had anywhere. So we came back for dinner the next evening. We were quite early and Roberto and his... More

very disappointed in how the restaurant conducted themselves in terms of offering good food at a fair price. Menu outside was posted with different prices from inside perhaps take out or lunch menu but felt restaurant was dishonest owner offered some free salad on the house and when the bill came different story, and the owner who sat with us... We found this location by chance whilst walking around Rome during our first day in the city. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was fantastic. We return for dinner on ours second night and again for our last night in Rome. This is a fair priced location with many items less than 10 euro. I did... More

Staying in Colonna

Neighborhood Profile
Colonna
Frantic fashionistas, pedicured politicos, goal-oriented tourists, and on-the-go locals cross paths every day in Colonna, a delightful chaos in the very center of the city. Even though it has some of the city’s loveliest sites—a 2nd century column, Belle Epoque shopping center, and a magnificent Baroque parliament building—Colonna is not just another pretty face, but the cosmopolitan eye of Rome’s cultural storm. Colonna can safely say it has the best of Rome: museums, boutiques, window displays, restaurants, cafes, and people watching.
