Great trattoria

Family run, home cooked food. They took a little while to thaw to foreigners but once they did, we saw what great hosts they could be. The food was simple yet expertly cooked supported by good local wine. Grappa and limoncello at the end was a nice touch.

This was the worst meal we had in Italy. None of the six of us could finish our meals. We had a variety of dishes, but none were good. They were quite unfriendly to us, and service was painfully slow. A local recommended this place to us, and it seemed to me that they were much more friendly and attentive... More

We ate here two years ago being fed up of being ripped off in other restaurants in the city. The food and service are top class and we walked an hour to eat here this year. The decor and cutlery are rustic and charming whilst the food and service are amazing. This place is a must for anyone seeking the... More

Its a small restaurant in trastevere. The interior is tipically roman; simple but tasteful. We had 3 courses, no desert. Everything was very good, the restrooms are clean and the waiters speak english. I would recommend this place if you want italian food for a very good price. The "vino della casa rosso" is quite good for a open table... More

We found the restaurant by chance, earlier in the evening, and after reading the menu came back for dinner. The pasta was excellent- mine was cut by hand and very good. We also had a bean in oil dish that had to be the best bean dish we've ever had. The generous serving of grappa was the perfect way to... More

Just delicious! Try the antipasti rustico, salmon and fettuccine, or veal roman style. The service, unfortunately, forgot my wine, and a salad. Generally italian service is a little less attentive than Ameriacn, so it doesn't bother me. Veal, pasta, anti pasta, water 30 euros

The restaurant was very busy and therefore it took a while before we were served. The staff only spoke Italian, so at one point she said something that may or may not be a apology because we had to wait a while but we could not understand so no idea. The food was good, prices were okay. The restaurant was... More

It may be on one of the busiest streets in Trastevere, but this is a gem. We went in for lunch on the strength of the outside courtyard on a warm day and were greeted by a small boy playing with his mother in the inside restaurant. The family theme continued in the quality of the food - complimentary bruschetta... More

we ordered two different pizzas, but both contained a cheese (kind of mozzarella, not true mozzarella) tasting very strange, as it was spoiled. we left half of the pizza...but tonight we both had heavy bellyache...was it casual? do not go!!

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
