This place is very popular so expect to wait in busy season without a reservation. The staff had a friendly tone and the food was amazing. The steak for 16 euro was on another level- and I have eaten some far more expensive steaks which don't come close. Order carefully- the dishes can be quite traditional. This said, so many... More

Hostaria La Boticella is a very nice place, the food is good, and its nice to have a seat in the quiet street. I had dinner two times at La Boticella June/July 2014. The first time I was on my own, got a nice seat outside, and enjoyed a very good and pleasent meal. The second time I came with... More

After reading some of the reviews on here my wife and I decided to give this place a try. We showed up without reservations at approximately 9:00p and had to wait about 15 minutes. They were very open and honest about what the better items were on the menu and what they recommend. My wife ordered the Carbonara and it... More

If you are looking for an Italian Restaurant with that is authentic, look no further Julia, the owner was the chef, server, owner, host all in one. She and the fod were amazing. The roasted lamb shank, sauteed greens, Pasta carbonara, homemade chocolate covered figs, house wine, and complimentary lemon cello. What more can i say. I own a Italian... More

My partner (who is a chef) and I had a 2 week holiday in Roma and the Lazio region in June. We ate at great restaurants every night and went to Hostaria La Botticella three times as it was so good. Traditional superb-tasting, authentic food is served by one lovely sister and cooked by the other (she's the head chef),... More

We where looking for a place for a quiet romantic evening. Found this little Hosteria placed in a hidden back street of Travestere. Great food, lovely service. Feelt like being a part of the family. If we come back to Rome again we will surely be looking for this family restaurant.

We picked this restaurant for its amazing trip advisor reviews and we were so pleased we made the right choice. We contacted Julia before we left the UK as it was advised in some of the other reviews to book ahead, we told them the meal was for our honeymoon/ 1st anniversary. We were greeted outside when we arrived at... More

Overall, this is average food at best. It is comparable in many way to what we get as Italian food in the United States-unnecessarily huge portions with adequate but not memorable food. Again, the food was not bad, but overall this was the worst meal we had in our 10 days in Italy,

We had a lovely evening here. The food is excellent, the portions generous, the hostess very welcoming. The first plate pastas are so good and really enough for your meal. However, the mains are not to be missed. The tiramisu was fabulous and the largest piece I have yet seen. It was plenty for 2 of us. We walked 4... More

We've had the opportunity to dine here once for lunch and once for dinner. Both times were amazing--start out with the bruschetta pomodoro (sorry--my Italian is terrible!), then head into the cacia e pepe pasta, which is not to be missed. House red wine is great, if you don't have space for a bottle. The fried carciofi are heavenly (and... More
