My niece recommended La Boticella, saying it was her best meal in Rome. We were not disappointed. It was authentic in every way. And it was the best typical roman food we had. The wine available was way above average. I had by far the best rabbit I had ever eaten (vinegar was one of the magic ingredients). I wanted... More

We arrived as the first guests this evening and got an outdoor table even without a reservation. Fairly soon most tables were occupied. Our friends had fairly good dishes, but our saltimbocca had a much too sour flavour to it. In true roman style it took ages to have the waiters bring the bills both to our table as well... More

Wow, there are some very different reviews about this restaurant which is a bit of a surprise. A friend suggested we try it out and we weren't disappointed. It was tucked away down a quiet street, had charming staff and excellent food. I had the mixed antipasto which was delicious, followed by meat balls in truffle sauce with spaghetti. Again,... More

We stumbled by chance upon this gorgeous place in a little street- and had the best meal in our five night stay in Rome. We had to wait as it was full but were given a glass of prosecco each. Food was lovely - I had the porcini ravioli with truffle and cream. Amazing. The hosts were fantastic fun, chatted... More

Tucked away in out of the way pass way in Trastevere it is truly a jewel. Your first indication are the people patiently waiting for the next table to be open. The good is incredible from appetizer to dessert. Make sure Gnocchi Gorgonzola is one of your choices. Julia, the owner makes it unforgettable.

We was in Trastevere with my boyfriend looking for a typical restaurant. We went in la hortaria botticella and shared antipasti with mozarella bread and tomatoes without taste for 15€ each. At the end, a real shame for this restaurant and a scandal, they wanted us to pay 40€ instead off 30€........ Fortunetly we saw the scam.... Never go to... More

Wow, sit down and let momma do the cooking. We had an incredible experience here. The owner/chef prepared us the most fabulous dinner. First course of appetizers with meats and cheeses was awesome, the second course of 4 types of pasta was incredible, the main course of rabbit and sea bass was wonderful and ten desert platter to finish was... Trastevere is a great place to stay if visiting Rome and finding La Botticella was the icing on the cake. It's tucked away a wee bit but make the effort and you will not be disappointed. The ambiance, friendly welcome and food were exceptional. A whole sea bass was brought to the table to discuss how I would like it... More
