Nice local restaurant in Vatican area

We visited this restaurant in Via Muzio Clementi twice while staying at the Dei Mellini hotel just up the road. The menu was quite extensive and we enjoyed both meals. The staff were very friendly and made us welcome on both occasions. After we had been we were told by hotel staff that the pizzas... read more

Gianfranco and his wife Kathy were excellent hosts. They were very personable and worked hard to make our visit memorable. We stayed at the Roma Hotel just up the street, so it was very easy to get to. There was a wide variety of food to choose from and the restaurant was quite clean. This is a family restaurant and... We visited Vito's twice on our recent trip to Rome. The food was great. Everything we had was top notch, but the brace of Brazilian beef was especially good. I cannot say enough about the hospitality. Don Franco welcomed us into the restaurant and treated my family like his family. On our second visit he even gave us his focaccia... More

This was my favorite restaurant in Rome. Came here multiple times and the owner and staff were very hospitable. My daughters and I felt like family. The food was awesome and the experience memorable. The Brazilian style steak was superb, as was the presentation by the chef. Loved it!!!

On our last evening in Rome we were waiting for the hotel shuttle to take us back to the hotel and we used Trip Advisor to find a close place to eat. Vito's was OUTSTANDING! Extremely friendly and helpful staff who were the OWNERS taking time to talk with us and recommend menu items. The food was excellent, really the... More

Coming from the United States, our second night staying at the nearby hotel had us looking for something quick and local. Being that we are Asian American from California, our limited Italian was only supported by conversational Spanish.. but Vito's English is very good and he knew exactly what we needed! We essentially just went "omakase" so he and the... More

If I was writing about our first visit this restaurant would get a score of five: excellent food, often done to our specific requirements. Frascati served by the glass despit it not being on the wine list. Nice chat with the waiter, who appeared to have some Australian heritage. Second night - inexplicable delay in serving fish soup despite it... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
