don't know why it's rated so high here. hope it's simply because i ordered the wrong food there. it's in basement and with its deco don't think it's not pricy. the only shining point is its bread. more

We went to the Vatican and our guide Mike from Ohio recommended this restaurant to us so we tried it out. It was a bit difficult to locate as I was looking for a typical sidewalk cafe and walked past the entrance on a cobbled narrow alley street. A local pointed the way to an arched doorway with candle lite... more

My husband and I have just returned from a very nice meal at Martin's. We had been thinking of going having read good reports on Tripadvisor. We were looking at the menu when a couple came out and told us they had had a very good meal - you cannot get much better recommendation than that! Service was good, waiters... more

We had lunch in Di Martin's on Saturday 7 Nov 2009 and we were satisfied. The food was good (salad, pasta and tiramisu), the service extremely helpful and recommending specific dishes and the atmoshere quite ok. In general nothing extremely amazing but a decent tavern with good value for money. Note that is in in the basement of the building... more

This was the best meal we had in 7 days. We spared no expense at the others and kept coming back here. You're not getting ambiance, but you are getting a spectacular meal and memorable service. If you are visiting Rome... Go. There. Now. more

Visited La Taverna Di Martin on recommendation of Sistine Chapel guide - Mike- and was not disappointed - Martin brought us bread with a plate drizzled in basil oil and basamic cream- lovely-whilst we waited for the starter - carpaccio of beef with rocket and another with parmesan, rocket and honey. Excellent pasta dishes of ravioli with spinach ricotta bacon... more

My wife and I came here based on a recommendation from our tour guide - Mike from Ohio (highly recommended for Vatican tours). This is by far the best meal we had in Italy where we ate in 3(Rome, Florence and Venice) cities at much more expensive (at least 70 euros without wine) restaurants. The food and the amazing hospitality... more

We had an excellent dinner at La Taverna di Martin. For under 60 euro, we got 2 bottles of wine (1 to take back to the hotel that they opened for us, thanks!), beers, 2 excellent pasta dishes, 2 antipasti, and a tiramisu (on the house). The service was excellent. When we ordered our pasta, they offered homemade noodles. Bellisimo!... more

I checked this out based on the reviews, and while the meal was fine, I really don't understand how this could be the top rated restaurant in Rome. The atmosphere is really not very appealing. The restaurant is below ground level, hot (even with two air conditioners running in the place), and overly loud Pet Shop Boys, Toto, and assorted... more

I visited with 2 other business associates and found the food to be delicious and the service to ge great. It is not a fancy restaurant, but the owner was very attentive to our needs and made good recommendations. We paid 150 Euros for 3 people, but we had 3 more expensive bottles of wine and many appetizers. more
