I brought the family for a meal the night before my sons wedding. The restaurant was a short walk from our hotel. We stayed at the Hotel President. The restaurant has a nice shaded aspect with tables outside. There was eight adults and two children in our party and the waitress made up a table with plenty of space for... More

We stopped off for a quick drink (or so we thought) before we visited the Basilica di San Giovanni in Laterno. Felt a few spots of rain whilst outside, which turned heavy, so we had to retire inside. The staff went into overdrive, taking down table umbrellas etc. The interior surprised us a little, it was rather nice. Quite a... More

Personnel are antipathetic and behave you like you should not be here. Actually we had to come here because our guesthouse has a breakfast agreement with the cafe. But i would not come here more than once if we did not have a brakfast coupon.

We learned of the Merulana Cafe when we received breakfast vouchers for use there from the ColorHouse guesthouse. It is a nice little place with an upscale pub feel. Our free breakfasts were simple, but delicious. We visited for dessert and coffee one evening, as well. Judging by the number of people dining, including many large groups, this would be... More

Visited Rome in a group of 25 male rugby supporters for the Italy v England 6 Nations game. I had previously visited the Merulana Restaurant some 3 years ago with friends from Australia and had a superb meal so I decide to recommend this eatery as somewhere to finish of a great 5 day visit on the Sunday night. We... More

Beautiful little place that serves amazing authentic Italian food and situated just a small 5 minute walk from the colosseum. Food was not expensive and the service was great. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants to taste and experience Italy and Italian food at its best and it is not full of tourist which is even better.

The food was excellent. Large choice of steaks and they were cooked to perfection. Service was also excellent. Highly recommended.
