A Little Gem

They specialise in seafood but you can also order meet. I habe been going there for a year and I must say the food has Always been excellent.... Always. Sometimes I eat fish dish sometimes meat... but Always I finish with their lemon desert. I go there every week. The standard is Always good.

Terrible service. Waitress seemed as if she did not want to attend our table. Didn't have enough change to give us. Food was too salty, and the seating arrangement was not very comfortable. The gentlemen it ting behind me relaxed the whole way back and had his arm practically on my shoulder. No thank you.

This is the first time I have done a review but the experience was so terrible that I felt it only fair to warn others. We were visiting Rome for holidays and told of this restaurant be our hotel. My husband and I arrived at the restaurant around 8:30 p.m. While we do not speak Italian, I speak both English... More

We liked the food and the atmosphere of the place. But finally turned out to be a great fail. You write we can't read Italian (sounds funny). So please find a check copy where it is clearly seen that you charged (!) 16 euros for 1 liter of water, the same 16 euros for a bottle of wine. The menu... More

Food is ok. Not friendly staff. Charged 16€ for a bottle of water (the same price as wine). Although the menu price of water was only 2€

We came across this restaurant on our last night but wish we had found it earlier. On entering it was almost full with locals and there was really friendly exuberant atmosphere. We were served with a free glass of prosecco on sitting down. We both ordered a mushroom pasta meal which was delicious. I wanted the lemon sorbet for dessert... More

We visited this restaurant twice while on a trip to Rome. The first night they were very busy but food and service was good. Visited again on our last night and were made very welcome as it was much less busy. The desserts we tried were particularly good lemon sorbet and homemade chocolate cake.

I was a bit worried when we walked in and I saw a flat screen TV perched on the wall. But it was never turned on so we were happy about that. As soon as we were seated we were all (4 of us) given a glass of Proseco. The owner speaks no English but we had no difficulty communicating... More

This is a great little restaurant. We walked by on our way to a different restaurant and came back to it. It was a great way to finish our 10 days in Italy. The white sparkling wine and limoncello on the house were a great touch. They even gave us dishes outside the menu to suit our kids desires.

The four of us had a great time trying new dishes and old favorites. Welcomed with a glass of Prosecco, the service was friendly and attentive. We were also treated to some live music and digestivi. Absolutely do not forego dessert; they are all made in house. The lemon tiramisu in particular was amazing. Thanks!

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
