Busy place, good seafood

The owner of our B&B recommended this place. We had a look at the menu and decided to go on. The waitress was really friendly to us although she spoke zero English. She gave us a prose co of the house and Italian and Sardinian bread. We ordered wine and that arrived in a cooler. She even wanted me... read more

We had high hopes as this restaurant seemed busy. But it turned into a nightmare. We were ignored for sometime before even getting to order a drink. The starters were ok but nothing special, but while sitting eating them our main courses arrived and the waitress seemed surprised we didnt want them left on the table. When the main courses... We walked into this restaurant because the menu looked good and it was very close to where we were staying on Piazza di San Giovanni in Laterano. It was after 10pm on Easter Sunday and the restaurant was full of locals including a large table of all ages with their dog – a very good sign. We were greeted with... More

A really friendly welcome - Mattia was particularly warm, showing genuine interest in us and wanting to share his interests and experience of Rome. Lots of little gifts of speciality food and drinks added to the experience. The owners are clearly passionate about food and were knowledgeable about their specialities of fish and Sardinian food. A great night out -... More

Recently had an unforgettable dinner at this restaurant with a group of dear friends. We could taste plenty of Sardinian seafood dishes from starters to raw fish. The seafood dishes were very genuine and delicately prepared. The primi(pasta and risotto) were also very tasty. They offered lemon sorbet at the end which was a refreshing finish. Each one of the... This place was close to our hotel, and we went there for dinner twice. The first time, we loved it. It is a small dining room, with a typical Sardinian menu. Seafood is emphasized, and we had lots of seafood (mussels, mixed seafood risotto, spaghetti in clam sauce, and grilled fish). We were delighted with everything. The service was quick,... More

If you are staying at one the hotels in the area this small simple restaurant provides a very pleasant dining experience. Very pleasant and friendly service and very good simple food, ideal for a couple or family on a visit to Rome. Does not look much from the outside but go in it is well worth it, we would certainly... It is a lovely small restaurant. We were in Rome for 5 days and we went there twice as the food was so good. The antipasto, seafood and risotto were absolutely delicious. The menu was in both Italian and English; and the waitress spoke good English. The service was very good too. We will definitely return if we go back... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
