Very good restaurant like a good "Trattoria" in Rome must be.

Location = good area (1/4 miles from Termini station). Parking = not so easy. Staff = very friendly, smiling and polite. Menu = very good. Typical food you may eat in Rome. Pasta = well cooked even if "Tonnarelli Cacio... read more

Pasta = well cooked even if "Tonnarelli Cacio e Pepe" could be better (BUT I am a DISCERNING GUEST...). Wine list = good. Cleanliness = good. Price =... More

Based on the reviews on here and the fact it was near our hotel we wanted to visit this restaurant and so glad we had! We arrived at 8pm without a reservation and waited 10 minutes for a table which wasn't a problem. The place was packed with locals and tourists alike so a good sign. We ordered the mixed... More

My friend and I ate in the restaurant 18 months ago and I was back in Rome last week with my partner, I suggested going to Trattoria Antica Boheme and when we looked at the menu outside there was nothing that he fancied. We went inside and asked was it possible for him to have an omelette and they were... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by the hotel and was absolutely superb! Lovely restaurant visually, and superb food. In addition, it was just behind the hotel too, so convenient. The service was absolutely lovely and so friendly. We had quite a few laughs with the waiters on both occasions we were there. I recommend the delicious baked lamb and... More

We visited this restaurant twice after a recommendation from the ticket vendor at the opera at St. Paul's within the walls church. Tasty food at a reasonable price with good, friendly service. They recognised us the second time we went. Best place we found to eat in Rome.

Friends (one of them Italian) recommended this restaurant as a favourite so we were looking forward to our dinner. It was disappointing. The server was at our table every two minutes to prompt us to place an order. We needed time to review the lengthy menu of Italian and Roman dishes, so didn't appreciate his rushing. The restaurant was not... More

Really enjoyed this trattoria on Via Napoli, just near the Teatro dell'Opera. It gets busy at the weekend and we hadn't booked but getting there early (7:45pm) helped secure us a table (people were queueing when we left). A classic old-school trattoria: photos of Italian celebrity diners on the walls, cheery wise-cracking waiters and delicious traditional dishes (they say it's... More

We searched some local restaurants, where only italians were eating there, neat hotel, close to Via Viminale, and our receptionist reccomended us this wonderful place. Unfortunately, or not, there were also tourists. The waiters didn't speak english, but we knew few words in italian, we ordered twice some pasta and desert, and red wine, excellent, probably better that bottled wine.... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
