Great after the Colosseum

Nice spot for a hearty lunch after touring the area. The waiter let us in early and out of the sweltering heat. Good service and focus on the customer. Food was good and chocolate warm cake yummy. This was our first restaurant we have encountered a "table fee" per person of €1.50. Other than... read more

I arrived with my wife and kids (4 and 6 years old) to have lunch; after being ignored for some minutes, we finally asked if we could get the available table near the door; we got a very rude answer from the staff member (everyone in the restaurant kept silent and starring at the guy) that we should not sit... This small but cozy restaurant is situated in a small street just next to the Coliseum. The service was very friendly and the menu was only in Italian but our waiter gladly translated everything for us. The food was fantastic en not too much. We had the chocolate cake for dessert which was absolutely delicious! We are definitely coming here... More

I visited Rome this week with my boyfriend and after having looked up the best places to eat, we took the advice of most people to look for Italian's eating at restaurants as this should mean good quality. This is exactly what we found at Il Bocconcino, the service staff were very friendly (especially as neither of us could speak... More

We were a group of 7 very hungry people when we reached here after a tiring visit to the Colosseum. This is close enough (5 min walk from the Colosseum), and much better and more reasonable food that you'd find in and around the Colosseum. Still, having gained experience of eating in Italian restaurants for 2 weeks, I would not... More

This was one of the busier restaurants we tried during our trip. Make reservations. Décor is very simple, the focus is on the food. The staff was friendly and helpful and the food and wine fantastic. What I enjoyed most was the diverse menu. After getting my fill of lasagna, ravioli, and other red sauce dishes earlier in the trip,... More

The food is okay, but be warned - lasagne is really al dente here. Service like the food is average.

It's uncommon to find a good restaurant around this neighborhood in Celcio, but this is a hidden gem. Tried the filleto do manzo Danese and paired it with a glass of chianti. The fillet was tender and soft. One bite, and the juice

This is a spot worth searching out. That will be easy in this small district. The staff are very professional and considerate. The food and drink are a cut above and the price point is attractive. One can dine outdoors. There seems to be a marked demographic of French clientele, much more than we noticed elsewhere. Perhaps that might serve... More

We visited the restaurant and were so very pleased with it. It is simply furnished but we were made very welcome. The waiter spoke excellent English and talked us through the menu and made suggestions. The food was extremely tasty and well presented and I felt it was extremely good value for money. Excellent wine too.
