I keep returning to this restaurant for its cacao e pepe - the best I've had anywhere and prepared as it should be, no oil or butter and homemade pasta. Also very very good meat courses, the lamb is particularly well done.

I have been eating at the Tana de Noantri since the 1980's, and in all that time I don't think the menu has ever changed. This may be good or bad depending on your point of view. Friends who come to Rome occasionally like being able to order the same dishes they enjoyed on previous visits. Someone who lives in... More

Busy friendly restaurant in Trastevere. Well placed for a visit to the Botanic Gardens and the Villa Farnesina. Good food and fair prices. The Abbacchio arrosto con patate (roast lamb with potato) was delicious, moist and tender and fully of flavor.Carcifo alla Romana (artichoke) very good. Tiramisu was a bit too sweet. All in all good value lunch for three... More

Our server was very good, food well presented, fresh and reasonably priced, La Tana de Noantri was recommended by our hotel receptionist and it didn't dissappoint.

This is a quite ordinary restaurant in Trastevere I guess. The waiters seemed to have worked on this same place for years and years, he seemed a bit bored but did what he was supposed to. Food was good and wine ( vino de casa) was cheap and good. We sat outside and atmosphere was fine. Nice place to eat.

This place was a little bit of a disappointment. We sat outside for dinner, but the lighting was so harsh and bright compared to the warmly lit restaurants in the area. We started off by ordering fried artichokes. What I failed to notice is that the menu had two types - one is the Jewish style I was looking for,... More

Hi, we're happy that you have appreciated our food! This is the most important thing for us. The english menu is simply (but not much for european tourists) because we've not only american customers, but also french, germans, etc. so we prefer that everybody can understand and read the meals without difficult! About the lighting is the first time that... More

This is a nIce looking restaurant situated in the Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere. The menu is a little more extensive than most and the prices looked reasonable so our party of 4 decided to give it a go. Our waiter seemed a bit brusque at first but he mellowed over time, with some effort on our part I must... More

If you want to eat the traditional Roman Food, then you have to try this restaurant. Located inside neighborhood of Trastevere in via della Paglia, the restaurant is very nyce and cheap. I can suggest: Tonnarelli Cacio E Pepe Rigatoni con Pajata Trippa alla Romana Carciofi alla Giudia Enjoy

First of all I am a roman resident, so I think I can distinguish good local food. By local I mean the traditional recipes more popular here in Rome, especially (but not only) those based on "pasta" dishes: Pasta cacio e pepe, carbonara, matriciana (actually they serve a different version of it, in this restaurant), etc ... . What you... More

The food here is all home made and it shows as both our main courses tasted superb. Our waiter was excellent and provided fantastic service. He gave us complimentary bruschetta when the main course took a bit longer than expected an both of us had a hearty meal and great bottle of wine for 34 Euros. What a bargain!

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
