decent food, shame about the service

we struggled to get a waiter's attention to order, when we finally got one, he refused to take our food order and said he would not do so until our drinks had been served. We waited quite some time for said drinks, and finally got to place our food order. Our starters arrived and we'd barely begun... read more

Very disappointed. They brought us pieces of bread that was so hard we could not eat it. Then we order pizzas that were good and tasty. When we order our pasta and ravioli, what can I say...They confused the dishes with other tables. They took our food to them and they brought us there's. They just switch them from the... More

Hi, we are sorry you not appreciated our restaurant, but there are some points that we wanna explain. Bread is bought daily, every morning the supplier bring it to us, it's so strange that only your portions was hard! About the (fatal) error to have confused the dishes between tables we are so sorry, but..seriously? We are humans and it... More

We are having the worst luck this vacation in Italy with the restaurant recommendations of friends. I don't know in which decade a good meal was had here by our sophisticated NY colleagues, but I bet It wasn't this century. Deep fried zucchini blossoms, a seasonal dish, had the distinct flavor of fish, as if all fried foods were cooked... More

We had pizza with sea food, tagliatelle with artichokes and pizza with prosciutto crudo. Great food, and very fresh. Please make the effort to stop by, if you're in Trastevere.

We were 9 and ate here after visiting the Vatican. Everybody ordered what they wanted, pasta, fresh fish, wood oven pizza, deserts, beerd and house wine. Very friendly and helpful waiter. We each paid around €30 which I found to be very reasonable. I can strongly recommend!

This restaurant has nice food and is reasonably priced. If you want high level food or something really amazingly special look further, but as a place to sit with a bottle of wine and some pizza it is fine.

I keep returning to this restaurant for its cacao e pepe - the best I've had anywhere and prepared as it should be, no oil or butter and homemade pasta. Also very very good meat courses, the lamb is particularly well done.

I have been eating at the Tana de Noantri since the 1980's, and in all that time I don't think the menu has ever changed. This may be good or bad depending on your point of view. Friends who come to Rome occasionally like being able to order the same dishes they enjoyed on previous visits. Someone who lives in... More

Busy friendly restaurant in Trastevere. Well placed for a visit to the Botanic Gardens and the Villa Farnesina. Good food and fair prices. The Abbacchio arrosto con patate (roast lamb with potato) was delicious, moist and tender and fully of flavor.Carcifo alla Romana (artichoke) very good. Tiramisu was a bit too sweet. All in all good value lunch for three... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
