Amazing icecreams

Had some of the bets ice cream I ever tasted. One of my top ice cream shops in Rome, and we tried several of them. Some uncommon flavours to die for.

This shop makes just natural ice-cream and they have a quite big selection of flavor. I try apple and mint and it was one of the best ice-cream that I ever tried, fresh and tasty. You can really taste the fruit in your ice-cream!

I almost walked past this Gelateria... The only way I found it was by people standing around with dishes of gelato. It looks like a hole in the wall but it's so much more. You take a number upon arrival because there are many people And it is very small inside with no tables. Plan to stand outside or walk... More

Found this place by chance, walked passed and never took much notice, we were eating just along the road and saw the number of what looked like locals turning up in cars and mopeds just for their gelato. We thought why not, walked up took a ticket, yes a ticket to be served, I'm sure there are other places as... More

What can I say that others have not said before. A local restaurant owner recommended this place to us when he learned we were living here for the summer and needed a go-to gelateria in the neighborhood. He was right--this is a "destination gelateria" with both classic and unique flavors. They allow you to have up to three flaavors in... More

We just tried 5 sortiments of the most demanded icecreams and it's truly worth it! The mint and apple one was very refreshing, but the ones with pistachio, pine and almonds were also interesting. The ingredients are fresh and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Every flavor we sampled at this small neighborhood gelateria was excellent, but especially the mela (caramelized apple with cinnamon and raisins and nuts; tastes like apple pie), cocco (fresh coconut with an abundance of coconut shavings and made with coconut milk) and zabaglione. A small cup (which is ample) is only €2.50. Well worth repeated visits as flavors change regularly.

There is gelato and there is gelato. This is a little place, but you get to take a number so waiting is fair. The dark chocolate (fondente) is wonderful. Cones and cups, of course.

For those of you who are not near Prati, there is another branch of Gelateria dei Gracchi in Viale Regina Margherita (in the Nomentano/Salaria area) and the gelato is as all reviewers say just delizioso :) and whilst you are in the area, if you walk up Viale Regina Margherita for another couple of hundred meters whilst eating your lovely... I researched where to get authentic, delicious and fresh gelato in Rome before we visited and this place did not disappoint. Although the inside is unassuming, the gelato is certainly fresh and the flavors are AMAZING. My favorite was the dark chocolate. Bonus: it's also way cheaper than the gelato you'll find closer to the main Roma attractions (and with... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
