Great gelato...way better than the ones near the touristy places

We almost always AVOID any gelaterias that are too close to the touristy sites. This one is in a normal neighborhood in Rome, just a few blocks from the Lepanto Metro stop. It is worth a detour. Don't be swayed by the flashy gelato shop nearby (Gelarmony)--keep going round the corner to... read more

Do not be surprised or swayed by the long line coming out the door of this tiny shop...it is worth the short wait. Not too far from the Vatican on your way to Piazza del Popolo. Stop in and enjoy fast service, no frills and best Gelato in Rome.

Gelato is my one and only love. I've tried hundreds of gelaterias all over Italy, including some of the most famous ones. This is my favorite gelato in Rome. I live in the neighborhood, so I'm partially biased. However, it's the best value hands down. There are a lot of boutique gelaterias with excellent gelato, but they either have teeny-tiny... More

Got recommendations about this place from several foodies and it SURE worth the title. Wide selection of very fresh ice cream, very very tasty. We loved the Pistachio meringue and also the pine nuts cream was great. I could live there... This location is about 15 min. walk from the Vatican and it worth the walking. Piazza Poppolo branch which... More

Just round the corner from our b&b so it got plenty of business. They make Ice cream They sell Ice cream. None of the razzmatazz you often get with such places but great ice cream - all the flavors we tried were good but for me the pistachio was the best I have eaten.

Had to stop here while staying in an apartment in Prati district. My wife and sister in law had to check.almost every one in Rome that met their minimum standards! This had been mentioned on Food Network so we sought it out and found the most interesting fresh flavors. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.and need to... More

Real italian ice-cream, meaning flat, not foamed, and not artificially flavored. Lots of flavours, however, chocolate and pistachio with panna is the best, I reckon. Worth trying.

We went to this place on the recommendation from Anthony Bourdain's show. Great flavors, excellent gelato and good service. The portion size was good as well (not wimpy like other places).

This place ranks among the best of the bunch. Not a chain, all made on site, not ugly blue flavored, just the right texture and flavor.

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
