Creamy and yummy

There is gelato and there is gelato. This is a little place, but you get to take a number so waiting is fair. The dark chocolate (fondente) is wonderful. Cones and cups, of course.

For those of you who are not near Prati, there is another branch of Gelateria dei Gracchi in Viale Regina Margherita (in the Nomentano/Salaria area) and the gelato is as all reviewers say just delizioso :) and whilst you are in the area, if you walk up Viale Regina Margherita for another couple of hundred meters whilst eating your lovely... I researched where to get authentic, delicious and fresh gelato in Rome before we visited and this place did not disappoint. Although the inside is unassuming, the gelato is certainly fresh and the flavors are AMAZING. My favorite was the dark chocolate. Bonus: it's also way cheaper than the gelato you'll find closer to the main Roma attractions (and with... More

Lovely ice cream but not as good as Giolitti in my opinion, though my wife has the opposite opinion!! Take a ticket, wait your turn to be served and pay after. You could easily walk past it of it weren't for the crowds outside! Worth a trip if in Prati.

We went here on a recommendation and really enjoyed it. The line moved quick and the prices were fair and the flavor choices were good. The best were the green apple and mint and the hazelnut.

Small bake and gelato shop. Enough flavors to keep you coming back. Using a deli counter number system keeps things organized and moving. Make sure you don't walk on by like my wife and I did - no huge signs, but you will see a steady stream of happy people with gelato walking toward or away from you as you... More

We had heard about this place and just ahd to visit as we're ice-cream crazy. Although there is a lot of good gelato in Rome, this place stands out - you can taste that the flavours are natural, not too sugary, and the consistency is perfect. There was a queue of locals when we arrived, and some were taking orders... More

We almost always AVOID any gelaterias that are too close to the touristy sites. This one is in a normal neighborhood in Rome, just a few blocks from the Lepanto Metro stop. It is worth a detour. Don't be swayed by the flashy gelato shop nearby (Gelarmony)--keep going round the corner to Gelateria dei Gracchi. The servers were nice and... More

Do not be surprised or swayed by the long line coming out the door of this tiny shop...it is worth the short wait. Not too far from the Vatican on your way to Piazza del Popolo. Stop in and enjoy fast service, no frills and best Gelato in Rome.

Gelato is my one and only love. I've tried hundreds of gelaterias all over Italy, including some of the most famous ones. This is my favorite gelato in Rome. I live in the neighborhood, so I'm partially biased. However, it's the best value hands down. There are a lot of boutique gelaterias with excellent gelato, but they either have teeny-tiny... More

Staying in Prati

Neighborhood Profile
Prati
Just steps away from the chaos of the center, Prati is the closest Rome gets to calm. Meticulously planned in a neat grid, quite unlike neighboring Borgo, Prati is a local favorite for its aesthetic organization and wide streets lined with a range of boutiques for every shopping fantasy. Nonnis pushing baby carriages and gossiping teens own every inch of the sidewalk, but that’s only during business hours. Once the sun sets, quirky sidestreet bars celebrate aperitivo hour, those evening cocktails that help wash away the tensions of Roman life.
