This place is a complete tourist trap. My wife ordered a seafood appetizer for 20 euros and they brought her multiple plates of what she did not order. I also just had a appetizer for 12 euros and we had water. When we asked for the bill it was $50 Euros!!!!!!! no explanation was given. the service was terrible. the... more

My wife and I were in Rome with her parents, our hotel recommended La Barca for a wonderful dining experience. We were greeted by our waiter who asked us if we wanted meat or fish, we chose the fish option and they did explain how they would bring out sample dishes, "small plates." After about 6 or 7 appetizers, sheep's'... more

We are savvy travelers, having traveled extensively in Europe and within Italy for 20+ years. This was the WORST dining experience we've ever had. The waiter asked us to "trust" him and let him choose our food for us. Still, we asked to see the menu. He hovered over us and told us not to pay attention to the menu... more

We were a group of 15 with 3 children and had one of the best seafood meals I have ever had. The waiter asked us to trust him with the menu and leave it up to him. We decided to do that and he did an exceptional job of so many different kinds of seafood that it stunned us with... more

Mu husband and I were recommended to this place by our hotel front desk (Atlante Garden hotel), at the entrance, we saw that appetizers were ~6Euro, pastas ~10 Euros, main courses less than 20 Euros...and felt assured with the prices.. Once seated, the charming and friendly waiters asked us what we wanted and they had fish or meat for main... more

Just left the restaurant and I am very upset with this tourist trap. Since other reviewers enjoyed having the dishes of the day chosen for them we decided to do the same. We were a party of six with me, my wife, two teenage girls and my parents. Since the 50€ per person was too much for us I wanted... more

Last October my son, my wife and I spent three wonderful weeks touring London, Paris, Venice, Florence and Rome. We dined on fine foods and wines in all of those cities, but none rivaled the gourmet seafood that we enjoyed one memorable evening at La Barca. This restaurant is the epitome of hospitality. You are welcomed by pleasant and gracious... more

This restaurant was recommended by Hotel Columbus, so we went with high hopes. We were treated well throughout the meal by a very jocular Sardinian. Our problem is that food we did not order was served to us. We only received a menu after several requests. Yes, we could have refused the dishes, but that would have been uncomfortable. The... more

We were in Rome in October, 2008 and on recomendation of a cousin, we went to La Barca. They offered to choose foods that we ate, and it was a wonderful experience. We had fish we had never eaten before, but would, after that experience, eat again. If you go there, let them pick foods. Just eat and enjoy!! We... more
