Delicious food but not "traditional" Italian

If you are looking for "classic" Italian dishes like spaghetti with tomato sauce,or pizza this is probably not the place for you. If you want fine dining with a wide variety of dishes-absolutely . Shared appetizers very tasty. My sea bass was excellent, husbands steak was good. It was a two... read more

Wonderful service, delicious food, great wine, intimate atmosphere. Perfect for anything from a family meal to an anniversary dinner. Prices are reasonable and the food was even better than the Michelin starred restaurant we went to. Best meal in Rome by far!

After reading reviews on TA we visited last night without a reservation, luckily they gave us a table. So glad they did, the food is amazing and definitely deserve to be at the top of the list in Rome. The lady who served us was very professional, describing every dish and each wine. The live pianist who played for two... More

We received a recommendation from friends who had recently visited Rome to try this restaurant. Boy are we glad we did! We arrived for our reservation and were promptly seated at a large table. Immediately we were impressed by the decor. Very modern and attractive. My wife and I are celebrating our ten year anniversary in Rome and while we... More

It is a underground restaurant, so dont expect to be outside. The restaurant is very beautiful, looks like an underground tunnel. Great food, great service, very polite and helpful. The most important, the food, was verg good! Worth the price.

Exquisite food, fantastic wine, wonderful ambiance and very knowledgeable staff. You should definitely order Lo Stil Novo antipasti if you fancy a sample of foods from the whole of Italy.

The setting of this restaurant was wonderful, down in a cellar with every table in a little alcove. It was very quiet the night we ate there but the servers never felt like they were hovering or intrusive. The sommelier helped us to pick a very unusual wine that went well with the meal. The food was very good but... More

Beautiful surroundings, relaxing music, very friendly staff. The food and wine was delicious, only the potions a bit too small. All in all worth the price

Restaurant opens at 5:30PM, which is useful for the Americans still on bizarre life hours. Very quiet inside; the basement location is moderated by the bright red upholstery. There is a slight dank odor because of the basement. Food was exceptional and well-priced. Wine selection also good. Wait staff very helpful and responsive. What else is there to say. We... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
