Hidden little gem

The basement restaurant may not look a lot from street level: Felt empty until we got in the door downstairs, but once inside it has a nice light atmosphere with an arched roof. Went here on Trip Adv review. Food was very average. Wine could be very expensive if you are not savvy. All in all I have to say it's overpriced by some way comparing it to others near by. A bit intense as an experience.

Came here mid-day and tried a lunch menu. The restaurant is in the basement and must feel quite cozy and nice in the evening. The service was good (with a smile would have been better) if slow considering the smell number of people when I arrived (it got progressively busy later on). Pasta as primi was unimpressive - a bit... More

What a wonderful meal! We can only assume it was so quiet here because it was such a horrible, wet evening in Rome. The cellar setting is very cosy and we couldn't tell we were on our own. The staff were very helpful especially with the wine but discreet enough to let us enjoy our evening. We found this restaurant... More

My boyfriend & I enjoyed a wonderful meal at Lo Stil Novo. It's a really romantic restaurant, set in an underground cellar with really friendly & professional staff. Everything was perfect, the warm welcome, glasses of prosecco on the house & the AMAZING food! Fantastic restaurant, you will not be disappointed!

I've been to Lo Stil Novo two times so far, once for lunch and once for dinner, neither times disappointed me. The service, wine and food were all delicious! It's a great atmosphere, the staff is knowledgeable and definitely knows what they're doing. My favorite part of the meal was the cherry cheesecake, it was the best I've ever had,... More

We have been in Rome for a few days and have had some great food. We decided to go to a moderately priced place that had great reviews. This one fit the bill and it did NOT disappoint. We called and made a 7:30 reservation on a Friday night, though I suspect if eating that early you won't need one... More

We went for their New Year's dinner and ended the year in this nice restaurant in Central Rome. The food was good (but not great, I think) and the souterrain location is quite special. The evening was a little bit sterile and the service friendly but not exceptional. We spent some nice couple of hours there but there are better... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
