What a great find one evening when venturing over the Tiber. The staff were great, the quality of the food was excellent (and not too expensive) and our entire family enjoyed the meal. We took photos of everything because each plate was simple but also beautifully modern. We tried (and loved) polenta all' amatriciana, grilled ricotta w/ham/sage,ravioli, vegetarian carbonara, hamburger... More

The place was small and charming, and the food just excellent. One of the best burratta I've ever had! The service was really good, as well. Amazing value for quality.

Great food, friendly staff, quick service. Kid friendly. The waiter brought us some complimentary after dinner drinks....we sat for hours unrushed.

Wow! Great food, nice service, good wine. Everything was perfectly prepared. Don't miss the melon, strawberry and shrimps gaspacio - so fresh. Prices... So, so. But the value for monney is ok.

We loved the look of the interior of this restaurant and it was this that initially drew us in. We loved the mismatched vintage furniture inside and the cool colours and quirky decoration. The menu was lovely and it was hard to decide what to have as we could easily have had all of it. I went for the meatball... More

We came here for a late lunch last week after reading great reviews. The first thing that hit us was that the service was very slow. Although there were only a few other guests at the time, it took over 30 minutes to take our order. We both ordered one of the daily specials which was a pasta dish with... More

Ate here twice on our recent trip. No complaints about any of the dishes we ordered between the four of us although the meatball lasagne was especially delicious. House wine as we experienced throughout Italy was very good value. Service can be little slow but we had no timetable to work to. Staff spoke good english & the menu was... More

We stopped at this small restaurant by chance. Is is among several restaurants alng the small street that leads to the Basilica Santa Maria in Trasteverte. We chose to sit inside. The tables are unique and the room decorations give it a nice touch. The staff was friendly and speaks English. I had the Insalate Salmone which was excellent. The... More

We were recommended of this small restaurant by the B&B we stayed at, and it was indeed simply delicious. For starters we had the Burrata and the grilled pecorino cheese with walnuts and truffled honey, which were both amazing. For main the lasagna with meatballs was very good. Service was kind and welcoming, and the atmosphere was simply perfect. Highly... More

Staying in Trastevere

Neighborhood Profile
Trastevere
Trastevere ("beyond the Tiber") is like a faded postcard, a little worn around the edges but still charming. With its wide-open piazzas, meandering streets, weathered Renaissance buildings, and overgrown personality, it's become an irresistible mecca for visitors. Trastevere is an enclave of entertainment - a rotating set of street performers entertains almost every night, and unforgettable eateries and bars pepper its piazzas and side streets. For a trip to the past, visit the southern and western flanks of Trastevere for pockets of yesteryear, less traversed areas with a residual 1960s and 70s Roman vibe.
