We walked past this place one night to find it full of Italians and a queue out the door. It is well worth it as although you sit on top of each other and share tables with strangers the atmosphere is very friendly and relaxing, the food is good, and the prices are so cheap you can forgive any faults.... more

Pollo con i peperoni - chicken with red and yellow peppers - very much like my grandmother used to make. Some typical local fares and some standard Italian ones, well made, at a great price. more

We followed the recommendation for Luzzi in Rough Guide and were very happy that we did. This place was great. I expected much grumpier service than we got--the wait staff smiled at my attempt at Italian and switched to English for me, our food came out in a timely manner, and they happily served us a large salad to share... more

We gladly tried this place at the recommendation of a taxi driver who pointed to it unsolicited and said "good pizza" on our way back from a late-night jazz concert at the Villa Celimontana near the Coliseum. We were blown away by how good the pizza was. It came out in less than 10 minutes, piping hot, amazingly thin, and... more

The service was appalling. I am used to slow service in Italy, but this was not just slow, it was terrible. The food quality was bad. The pasta was overseasoned and the salad was so salty it was completely inedible. They did not ask me how I liked my steak, so it should not have been surprising that it was... more

My language teacher recommended this restaurant and boy was I grateful I accepted his suggestion. The food was divine, atmosphere authentic, service a crack up and without a shadow of doubt, the best value meal I have ever had. €40 paid for a four course meal for both my partner and myself, plus 1/2L of delicious house red and 750mL... more

We've just come back from 4 nights in Rome and came across Luzzi's by chance on our first night - and went back on the second and third as well. If they hadn't been closed on Wednesday's we'd have gone the last night as well. May not sound very adventurous but when you've got a 6 year old with you... more

Whoever said the phrase "When in Rome do as the Romans do" could well be talking about Luzzi's. Knowing locals pack this place in the back streets behind the Collosseum which even spills out onto the street even in the cold winter months whilst the queue waits patiently; we first went there a couple of years back and went there... more

Piccolo e chiassoso, ma assolutamente da provare, chiuso il mercoledì. Clientela locale verace e tanti turisti 'ben informati'. Cucina e... more
