Good place for the roman cuisine just by the Spanish Steps, really nice decor inside including a collection of wine openers. We had Tiramisu and pannacota for the desert and it was good too.

We walked in around 8pm and got a table easily- that was a good sign there are many better places around... The service was on the poor side, even for Rome. We didnt enjoy the food - the taste was average, servings were small. We were sitting inside and the environment was not cozy, somehow cold and unwelcome. At the... More

Got seated quickly finding reasonably priced entrees. However the food was only okay. A waiter (not ours) hustled by and put bread on the table without asking if we wanted it - fortunately we knew that we would be charged for it. Overall not very attentive... as in not at all. No reason to go back with so many other... More

Complete disinterest from the waitress and a light beside our table that flickered off sporadically plunging us into semi-darkness should have been a clue that our meal here was going against the trend of the fabulous eating we'd enjoyed so far in Rome. My Roast lamb was a large joint of bone and gristle that was cold in the middle... More

Wonderful homemade pasta, best carpaccio we've ever experienced, amazing gnocchi, and the best tiramisu we have ever had (and we are not fans of tiramisu!)

The restaurant is well lit, the menu looked ok so we went in. The first clue was than none of the waiters made eye contact. I ordered osso buco, which I expected to be a tender neck joint casseroled with potatoes. The dry, overcooked, small tough object smeared with black syrup and all alone on the plate smelled strongly of... More

For a long time now, we have visited Osteria del Gallo during our first evening of every trip. We did so again this time, but sadly I must say that it was the last time. Don't get me wrong: our favourite dish, grilled calamari, was still prepared nearly perfectly (although there are a couple of places that do it even... More
