You could hardly find this place and the windows were even tinted so you could not see that this was actually a restaurant. Inside you found a crowded, welcoming and genuine atmosphere. The patrons are elder gentlemen, really taking care of you. You get a lot of recommendations and they are most proud of their antipasto. Food is OK, prices... More

Full dinner for two should be $50 - $60 euro. If you're laid-back and low maintenance, you'll really enjoy this place. No menu needed, Dino or Tony will SUGGEST (not force) starters and entrees. If you don't like any of his suggestions then make your own suggestions. They're very accommodating! Carbonara was excellent. More

Hmmm. Some really mixed reviews for this place. Well, all I can say is that I got well fed and well served. I went on a Wednesday night and sat out the front. This place is pretty unglamorous and feels very rustic and authentic. Quite a few locals came and went but it wasn't a busy night. The waiters don't... More

I visited for lunch one Friday between Vatican tours. When I arrived the owners were having their lunch but quickly welcomed me inside. I was offered a menu but was urged to have the antipasto, which was delicious and hearty. I also ordered fettuccine with mushrooms. A steaming plate of the most wonderful pasta arrived promptly and I had to leave... More

Our group of 6 women thoroughly enjoyed our experience with Dino, Toni, Amadeus and the rest of the staff. We arrived for a late lunch to a crowded restaurant and had to wait for a few minutes, but it was so worth it! We gave Amadeus and Dino free rein to and had the best meal ever! The antipasti, all... Great local food in a no frills Hostaria, food was great and plentiful in this Hostaria that is only 400m from the Vatican city walls, worth the walk to get away from the close by tourist traps that are well over priced, it may look closed from the outside, but once you open the door it will be full and... it's one of the few places in Italy me and my husband are constantly telling about to our friends. The food is lookes, smells and tastes like homemade. I read some revieweres complaining about the fact they were "forced" into ordering some dishes - well, we didn't see it like this. We enjoed the fact the chef himself recommended us... More

Just a few blocks from Vatican Museums, behind a plain door and unpretentious sign hides one of the most amazing eateries in Rome. It's no tourist trap, the place is popular mostly among locals. If you are looking for a quite place to eat, then Dino & Tony is not for you. It's more like a eating attraction here, an... More

My wife and I had lunch here after touring the Vatican museums and it was wonderful. The outside is not so inviting, but inside the owners are cheerful older men that seem to only care about you having a fantastic meal. No menu, no idea what they were telling us, but the just made us some incredible food at a... More

Lots of locals with a few tourists make for a lively neighborhood feel. The antipasti wasn't the best but everything else was amazing. They give large portions so be careful how much you order. It's a FULL meal too; antipasti-pizza-primi-secondi-dessert. Prepare your stomach. There isn't a menu, one of the owners simply gives you some options, suggestions, and asks what... More
