Okay we're in Rome for 3 nights whacking in the sites before we hit Sorrento. This may seem nuts but we've ate here every night! Why? Because we're knackered and just want some nice food good service and guaranteed no fuss happy experience ie no risk! Babbo's delivers! Not 5 star not Michelin... read more

Decided to eat at Babbo's at random due to its close proximity to our hotel. It was a great decision! Everything we ordered was delicious and very fresh. We all agreed that it was the best food we had eaten in Rome and the prices were reasonable. Not only was the food wonderful but the staff was outstanding. They were... More

My son began pointing across street to go there, and 2 waiters began smiling and waving us over. Then one of them ran across the street to greet us, he was very friendly and funny so we tried it out. My wife is very critical of most restaurants but she exclaimed how delicious the eggplant parmesan appetizer was every time... More

We had a wonderful dinner at Babbo's. So glad we got the recommendation from our host! Our 3 small girls loved the food, like we, the parents, did. Highly recommendable!

The food was way toooily. everything swan in it: bruschetta, pizza (that wasn't good either) Price-performance ratio wasn't great; so for what we had it was way too much. Service was Ok but we didn't feel welcome.

This is what an Italian restaurant should be like! I've tasted hundreds or even thousands of pizzas and lasagnas but the ones I ate here are by far the best. I recommend dining there at night. To cut it short, if you're searching for a restaurant with a view and that serves mouthwatering food along with a welcoming service...then you... More

We read some reviews and decided to try Babbo's out. The atmosphere is nice, the location central, the service is great and the food superb. Definitely worth a visit, consider the Spaghetti vongole and the Pizza Bresaola with rucola. You will definitely enjoy experiencing their attention to detail.

Babbo's was a wonderful place for dinner. We ate there 3 times during our 5 night stay in Rome. We sat outside each night. The owner Stephanie was very welcoming and made sure her customers were happy. When we returned for the 2nd time she greeted us by name, with a kiss on each cheek. Our server Marina was awesome.... Bought a Mapeasy guide to Rome and it says this restaurant has wonderful steak and fish. So we came here to try it out. The restaurant has both indoor and outdoor dining area. As it was drizzling on and off, we chose indoor. My wife was not hungry (she's more tired than hungry by then) and ordered only a vegetable... More

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
