Great tasty food with good service

Was recommended to visit Babbo's by the Independent Hotel where we were staying. Good selection of foods on the menu and we opted to have Pizza's - Service was really good and the staff friendly and happy to talk in English (I must try harder to learn a language!). Pizza was fantastic and really... read more

We were there on our first night in Rome.Just across the street from our hotel. Good pasta with clams and scampi. The waiters are friendly and helpful. A good choice if you are in the area.

We came here after seeing reviews from people who had stayed at the same hotel as us. It was close by, lovely food at reasonable prices and the staff were wonderful and friendly. We are here every night of our time stay mostly for convenience but also because it was good.

We ate here for dinner during our stay nearby in Rome. The place has a nice outdoor eating area, is well presented and has good friendly staff. We were looking forward to a good meal but unfortunately 2 of our pasta dishes were so incredibly salty, they were barely edible. I was expecting great pasta in Italy but was very... More

The restaurant looks fancy and the staff is really friendly. However, my choice of the menu turned out to be of the lowest quality imaginable. The fish salad I could have ordered at a highway restaurant from a buffet and the lamb chops where deep fried and soaking in the oil on my plate.

Decided to eat at Babbo's at random due to its close proximity to our hotel. It was a great decision! Everything we ordered was delicious and very fresh. We all agreed that it was the best food we had eaten in Rome and the prices were reasonable. Not only was the food wonderful but the staff was outstanding. They were... More

Okay we're in Rome for 3 nights whacking in the sites before we hit Sorrento. This may seem nuts but we've ate here every night! Why? Because we're knackered and just want some nice food good service and guaranteed no fuss happy experience ie no risk! Babbo's delivers! Not 5 star not Michelin rated but I guess Italian family restaurant... More

My son began pointing across street to go there, and 2 waiters began smiling and waving us over. Then one of them ran across the street to greet us, he was very friendly and funny so we tried it out. My wife is very critical of most restaurants but she exclaimed how delicious the eggplant parmesan appetizer was every time... More

We had a wonderful dinner at Babbo's. So glad we got the recommendation from our host! Our 3 small girls loved the food, like we, the parents, did. Highly recommendable!

Staying in Esquilino

Neighborhood Profile
Esquilino
Old school vibe from the very beginning is the only way to describe the Esquilino neighborhood. The Esquilino takes pride in being one of the oldest areas in Rome for its key location on one of the city’s famous seven hills. From an ancient neighborhood to its modern incarnation as a multicultural hub, Esquilino always has something going on—polyglot vendors debate street artists while kids play pick-up basketball games. Look around you: this area isn’t like the historic center. Liberty architecture, large piazzas, and long boulevards mix with archaic arches, secret side alleys, and beautiful churches like Santa Maria Maggiore.
