Whether you have had a long trip to Rome or a long day of sightseeing, San Marco is that perfect neighborhood restaurant. The pasta is very good put the pizza is better. We always sit outside (when the locals think its too hot) and enjoy watching the neighborhood people walk! Reasonable priced and a short walk to many hotels in... More

We chose to eat here as the patio was so lovely. Great place to people watch. We lucked out when the food was so good. The arabbiata sauce is delicious, just the right amount of spice. The pasta was cooked perfectly. And the chocolate soufflé was amazing. Great selection of wines. Prices were okay, not great but better than many... More

Keep well away from this restaurant if you enjoy good quality Italian cuisine. The food is poor, and the service appalling. This tourist trap is precisely what gives Italian Restaurants a bad name. When Italian Restaurants are good, they can be some of the best in the world, but when they are bad, they can be like San Marco. You... More

This was our first stop for food in Rome and we were very happy that our hotel recommended this Restaurant. It has a very friendly and fast paced vibe, food is fresh, service is great, venue is spacious and has outdoor dining area as well. The arrancini and pasta were both really nice

The food at this restaurant was good however the wait staff was awful. From the moment of arrival, they paid us little attention. And gave us attitude when taking our order, or if we asked a question. Forgot to bring us water, but charged us for it, and when we asked to have it removed from the bill, they were... More

the staff at the Nearby Marriott recommended San Marco as an authentic, good Italian restaurant. The food and service were amazing!! The pizza and buffalo mozzarella were excellent. If you are near this area, this is the spot to eat with the locals.

The food and service was incredible. The restaurant was extremely busy however the waiters remained attentive. I'd highly recommend the arancino to start and the chocolate fondant! Also one of the only restaurants I visited that gives out free bread haha!

We chose this restaurant because of geography and because it was open Sunday, and we were rewarded with excellent pizza (thin, crispy crust) at a reasonable price. This is not a tourist trap. The clientele included many Italians, some having banquet-style meals with whole fish that were being filleted tableside by the waiters. It made me wish I could come... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
