Delicious food!

My husband and I arrived in Rome after 20 hours of travel, all we wanted was dinner and to go to bed. This restaurant was right down the street from our hotel and the owner of our hotel suggested it. We were able to walk up and get a table without a reservation and the food was delicious. I... read more

My wife and I had dinner in Rome near our hotel (and recommended by the concierge) at Pizzeria San Marco. Rather than pizza, which appeared to be just the regular fare of a relatively inexpensive restaurant in Rome, we decided upon a Caprese salad and a risotto with "crema di scampi" (shrimp cream sauce). Also had a Valpolicella wine by... More

We ate our first meal of our Italian vacation at this restaurant upon our noon arrival in Rome. It is located about a block south of Villa Borghese and two blocks from our hotel, Rose Garden Palace. We took a seat outside, which was probably a mistake. The restaurant is located next door to about three car rental places and... More

More than expected. A friend from Rome on my interest to good pizza restaurant suggested San Marco. It was not far from our apartment, so we've decided to take a walk. Restaurant is very close to Via Veneto, but on a side street, next block after Jumeirah Grand. Another 200 meters and you're in paradise for pizza lovers! Largest selection... More

We stumbled upon this restaurant and asked for a table for two on the patio. The service was slow, but we were not in a hurry, so we didn't mind. The classic salad was large enough for two to share, only balsamic as a dressing choice. The baked lasagna was terrific, the calzone was ok, the house wine was very... More

Went here with my girlfriend, good was rather nice, but a decent bottle of wine, but the bill came to twice what we'd paid the night before, staff were helpful and food was good, but was expensive Also have to note, they had no qualms about sitting a dog at a table...my girlfriend thought it was cute, but I couldn't... The service here was disappointing We ordered an incredibly expensive bottle of wine and after that it was nearly impossible to have any service. After we finally ordered, the guys' meals came first....several minutes later our pasta dishes were served and the pasta was over salted and not cooked. Despite out best efforts, we could not get the attention of... More

This restaurant is down a side street from tourist exploiters, but gives fantastic service, makes beautiful meals, and has reasonable pricing. We have been four out of the last five nights, they're that good! We've seen locals come in to watch the football/soccer, tourists and bus groups all looked after with excellence, professionalism, and true service. Worth any special effort... More

Staying in Ludovisi / Via Veneto

Neighborhood Profile
Ludovisi / Via Veneto
Thanks to Fellini and La Dolce Vita, the Ludovisi and Via Veneto neighborhood earned its reputation as a posh area where gorgeous Marcellos wooed actresses and models while bored housewives hung out in streetside cafes. The cafes are still there, and so are the cocktails, but the neighborhood is now home to five-star businesses including hotels, banks, law firms, and embassies. The area is also right next to Villa Borghese, a beautiful park for sporting and cultural adventures. If you're looking for tranquility by night, this may be the place: Ludovisi and Veneto tend to shut down after 8pm.
