Excellent first meal at 3pm after a 20 hour flight from oz. House wine was excellent white with bruschetta and salad. Tried spaghetti carbonara and it was made to perfection. For desert a lovely tiramisu and a pane de cotta with fresh berries. Coffee was great, all in all a great intro to Italian food and reasonably priced 46 euros... More

OK you can forget "tourist menus", photos of dishes, or (even worse) plastic models of the dishes proudly displayed under a lamp outside. This is a genuine Italian restaurant. Not kitsch, not dark and dated - a modern feel. Family owned, but no sales pitch as you walk past. For the discerning traveller, a real breath of fresh air. Popular... More

This place has the perfect menu of nice Roman dishes, good pastas and pizzas and well as nice meat selections and fresh vegetables with fresh fruit for dessert. It's typically populated with locals and some tourist, but their service is nice, the place is chic and clean, and the outside seating is great for a warm summer evening!

This is my third visit to this restaurant, the previous visits were more than 3 years ago. I was impressed by the quality and consistency of the food, the variety of the menu and the pleasant surrounding. I must admit the service is somewhat slow but don't forget this is Italy and dinner is a never a rush event. I... More

This is as reasonably priced restaurant just a few blocks from the main center of town, the food was great, the staff were OK, very busy after 8pm, the only thing I have to comment is that this is the first restaurant in Europe we have have to pay for the bread, 3.80 euro, however there was no cover charge,... The San Marco is a reasonably priced restaurant just a couple of blocks away from the over-priced eateries on the Via Veneto. The food was very good (we particularly loved the pesto) and very reasonably priced. At the end of a long day of touring (ten to twelve miles on foot per day in the August heat), it was just... More

The restaurant was just as I remembered: it offered good food and fast service, even if it started showing a little bit of wear. Altogether, tough, it is worth it.

Stumbled onto San Marco while looking for place to dine. We lucked out and beat the crowd. The food was very good as was the service. For starters we had parma prosciutto with bufala mozzarella, bruschetta pomodor, and portafino salad. All were fresh without over powering flavors. For entrees we ordered gnocchi with porchini mushrooms, tagliata with rosemary, and spring... More

Worth a look if you're in the area. Very good thin crust pizza. Favorite was mushroom and ham. Visited a few times between tours since it was so close to our hotel. Prices seemed in line with other pizza places.

Stayed at a hotel 2 blocks from the restaurant and this is one of our stops each time we come to Rome as it is a neighborhood place with excellent pizza and very good pasta! Reasonably priced and just a wonderful place to go if you want a neighborhood restaurant! This time I personally had the white pizza with prosciutto... More
